🚨 LET THERE BE LIGHT (WITHOUT THE ENGINEERING DEGREE) 🚨
After many years of loyal service, our old portable lighting setup is officially heading into retirement. 🫡
And look… it worked.
But it also involved:
🔩 undoing bolts
🔩 tightening bolts
🔩 dropping bolts into the grass never to be seen again
⚡ dragging out power leads
⛽ hauling around a portable generator
🫠 and assembling tripods at 2am while everyone pretended they knew how it packed away
Thanks to the amazing support from the Greater Shepparton City Council Community Matching Grants Program, Shepparton Search and Rescue has upgraded to a new all-in-one Milwaukee portable lighting system. 🔦✨
No more generators. No more power leads. No more hunting for the right bolt in the dark.
The new setup is quicker to deploy, easier to carry, safer for our volunteers, and gives us reliable lighting when responding to searches, storms, floods, road trauma incidents, and community emergencies.
When you're operating in the dark, good lighting is more than convenience — it's safety, efficiency, and the ability to better support our community when they need us most.
A huge thank you to the council and everyone involved in making programs like this possible. Support like this directly helps volunteer organisations continue improving the way we serve Greater Shepparton.
The only thing brighter than the new lights is the smile on the member who no longer has to fight the tripod bolts.
