The Rotary Club of Seymour recently hosted Paige Trodd, a student from the Seymour Flexible Learning Centre and participant in the Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment (RYPEN), at their meeting at the Royal Hotel Seymour. Paige shared her experiences from the RYPEN weekend in April, where she spent time with 35 other participants from Rotary District 9790 at the Axedale Camp. She thanked Rotary for the opportunity to step out of her comfort zone and experience new things.

The Rotary Club of Seymour celebrated a significant milestone, marking its 72nd birthday at the Royal Hotel on Monday evening. The event featured a speech by Past President and longest-serving member Viv Beaumont OAM, who reflected on his connection to Rotary and the transformations he has witnessed. Bonnie Williams, a recent addition to the Club, shared her perspective on the meaning of being a Rotary member, highlighting the value of engaging with like-minded individuals to drive positive change. She has enjoyed attending events, listening to guest speakers, and witnessing youth development, and views her involvement with Rotary as a rewarding learning experience. The Club is committed to its continued growth and development.

The Rotary Club of Seymour and Ampol North Bound Service Station maintained their partnership this year, focusing their efforts on raising funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. Volunteers from Rotary and their families established a presence at the service station on the Northbound side of the Hume Freeway, requesting travellers to contribute to the appeal. The travelling community responded with generosity, raising $2,430 for the appeal. A certificate of appreciation was presented to Jayde Curtis, acting manager of Ampol Northbound Service Station, by Rotarian Jane Challis.
