Just an update on what’s happening at your favourite Club.

GOOD NEWS!

RSL Semaphore Port Adelaide has been nominated as a finalist in the Best RSL category at the Clubs SA Awards!

Congratulations to our Committee for what was a very comprehensive submission – the results will be announced at the Clubs SA Gala Dinner and Awards night in November.

We also nominated Julie Meadows as the RSL Volunteer of the Year Award and she too is also a finalist – well done Jules!

MORE GOOD NEWS

After lobbying the City of Port Adelaide Council to replace our ageing air conditioning units, they advised that funding is now available and the main two A/C’s on the roof will be replaced in mid- late October before the summer heat.

This is an expensive major logistics operation involving heavy cranes and some roof replacement.

Unfortunately, we will have to close the club for 10-12 days for safety reasons, but that’s a small price to pay. More details later but thanks to the Council for their co-operation in arranging a suitable time-frame.

We were pleased to host an informal dining night last Thursday for about 20 members of “A” Squadron, 1st Armoured Regiment where they had a “Loud Shirt” night, great Company, and perfect gentlemen, yes they were all boys.
