——-WINTER CLOTHING GIVEAWAY——

This winter, let’s come together to support those in our community who may be struggling to stay warm.

The Rotary Club of Howrah is proud to host a Winter Clothing Giveaway at our Rotary Book Shop, providing warm clothing and winter essentials to those who need them most.

📍 Location: Rotary Club of Howrah Book Shop
76 Howrah Road, Howrah

We are seeking donations of:
✅ Jackets & Coats
✅ Sweaters
✅ Blankets
✅ Scarves
✅ Gloves & Beanies

Please ensure all donated items are clean, usable, and given with care.

Every donation can make a real difference. A warm jacket, a blanket, or a pair of gloves may seem small, but for someone facing a cold Tasmanian winter, it can mean comfort, dignity, and hope.

You can also take a piece of clothing if you need something warm. No questions asked, this initiative is about supporting our community and ensuring everyone has access to winter essentials.

Together, we can:
🤝 Reach those in need
❤️ Share warmth and spread hope
🌟 Make a lasting impact
🏡 Build a warmer Tasmania

Small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Thank you, Craig, for joining us and being part of the Rotary Club of Howrah’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.

Your presence made the evening even more special as we reflected on five decades of service, friendship, and community impact. We were honoured to have you assist in presenting the Paul Harris Fellow recognitions and to share this important milestone with our members, guests, and charter members.

Congratulations once again to President Gayle Smith and Sue Morris on their well-deserved recognition.

Thank you for your continued leadership, support, and commitment to Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self.

A great opportunity.

“I didn’t think I was ‘smart enough’ for NYSF.”

It’s something we hear all the time from participants before they apply.

Then they arrive, meet people just like them and realise STEM has room for all kinds of thinkers.
If you’ve been thinking about applying, this is your sign to go for it.

We recently presented the Tasmanian Rescue Helicopter Service with a UPS powerpack to help them operate equipment for extended periods of time in remote areas. Here President Gayle and Police Rebecca and Bryan receive the equipment.

We recently donated a peace pole to the Girl Guides Assoc, during their AGM, for their Orana Camp. It's a good reminder that peace starts locally, with each of us, and grows outward into our communities and beyond.

Rotary Howrah helping the community.

With thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of the Rotary Club of Howrah, a new $10,895 disability swim hoist is now operational at Clarence Aquatic Centre YMCA.

Having a swim hoist at the Centre is helping people with a disability or mobility issues to access the pool, and for the first time, children with disability can now also safely access the pool for swimming.

A wonderful community-driven initiative that is already making such a positive difference to the lives of so many in our community.
