🌿 EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST – GROUNDS MAINTENANCE

Service location: 47 Cansick St, Rosedale VIC

Rosedale SES is seeking expressions of interest from a suitably qualified person or business to carry out grounds maintenance at our unit.

Service frequency:
The grounds will generally require servicing fortnightly, or as required depending on seasonal conditions and growth.

The work will include:

* Mowing
* Spraying
* Edging
* General grounds maintenance as required

Requirements:

* Must hold current Public Liability Insurance and provide a copy of the certificate of currency.
* Preferably hold a current Chemical Users Certificate (ChemCert) or equivalent, particularly for any chemical spraying work.
* Must have their own suitable equipment.

A huge thank you to our members and all the other crews who were out and about during yesterday’s weather!

It was a very busy night with crews responding to a large number of requests for assistance. A big thanks to our neighbouring VICSES units, CFA, Victoria Police and everyone else who helped out throughout the night.

With plenty of water still around, please take care on the roads today. A number of roads remain impassable and conditions can change quickly.

And as always never drive through floodwater. It’s not worth the risk to yourself, other occupants of the vehicle or emergency services.

Stay safe and keep an eye on VicEmergency and VicTraffic for the latest warnings and road closures.

This week we joined up with Ambulance Victoria for a joint training night.

It was a great chance to train together, learn from each other and get a better understanding of how we can work alongside one another when needed.

A little fun fact - we have a remote rescue vehicle located in Heyfield, with our Heyfield members ready to turn it out when needed, helping us reach places our rescue truck can't.

A great night of training and always good to get the crews together!

At Rosedale SES our volunteers respond when our community needs us most.

Our roles include storm response, road crash rescue, land search and rescue (assisting Victoria Police with missing person searches, forensic searches and scene preservation), and alpine search and rescue.

No two callouts are the same, but every volunteer plays an important role in helping keep our community safe
