Aside from road infrastructure, other issues Mary-Ann Martinek had been spoken to about concerned waste collection services and growth planning.

Ms Martinek said residents had been affected by the shift from weekly to fortnightly red bin collections.

"Many residents have clearly stated they would support a return to weekly collection, particularly for households managing larger volumes of waste," she said.

Ms Martinek said residents wanted to be assured infrastructure development was matching population growth.

"Rapidly growing areas such as Maiden Gully and Marong are seeking improved infrastructure to match population growth (including) ... access to local shopping, services, and community infrastructure," she said.

I am standing for Lockwood Ward because our community deserves steady, principled and practical leadership at Council.

As a veteran and long-time community advocate, service has always guided my life. I believe in accountability, teamwork and showing up when it matters. I have worked closely with residents, small businesses, veterans and community groups to deliver practical outcomes and build stronger local networks.

Lockwood Ward is unique. We value our rural character, open space and strong community spirit. Growth must be managed carefully and responsibly. I will advocate for sensible planning decisions, well-maintained local roads, transparent financial management and essential services that meet the needs of families, seniors and local organisations.

Council must listen first. I am committed to respectful consultation, clear communication and decisions based on evidence, not ideology. I am not aligned with party politics. I am aligned with the people of Lockwood Ward.

If elected, I will work constructively with fellow councillors and Council officers while maintaining independence and integrity. I will represent every resident fairly, whether we agree or disagree, because good governance requires balance and maturity.

Our community deserves representation that is accessible, transparent and accountable. I am ready to serve with determination, experience and a genuine commitment to our local future.
