BIG NEWS!! We have locked in the last week of August to talk directly to astronauts on the ISS, the International Space Station!! Our youth members will be asking all the big questions, headed up by Venturer Scout Alana💜
This will coincide with planting our “Seeds in Space” wattle tree. As part of the “What’ll Happen to the Wattle” project. The seeds of Australia’s National Emblem spent 7 months living on the Space Station. What did zero gravity do to the seeds? We will find out because they will be cultivated then planted at our Scout hall on the night that our youth speak to the astronauts.
Watch this space (no pun intended)

Raksha has been part of the 3 year journey as we planned for Camp Mid West but was unable to come as she is halfway through 20 weeks of chemotherapy. So we carried her in our hearts, our minds and on a stick, inserting her head into the photos of our adventures for over 1,700kms.
Our last day of camp was Raksha’s 41st birthday and we celebrated with cake and singing at our hall before we all said goodbye and went home.
In Raksha’s words, “If something doesn’t feel right in your own body, please don’t be scared—go get those tests! If Cancer has taught me anything, it's that You're Never Too Young for Cancer!”

Camp Mid West Day 7 …
The Gallipoli Trench Project.
Leane’s Trench was an immersive experience. The sounds of battle and the smell of cordite as we navigated the narrow spaces and raw surroundings, giving us just a glimpse into what soldiers faced during the Gallipoli Campaign.

Camp Mid West Day 7 …
Essential Photo Booth frame photos were snapped before we left camp for the final time. We headed east for a tour of The 11th Battalion AIF and the Gallipoli Trench Project. The trench is an authentic replica of a captured Turkish trench as taken by the 11th on the night of 31st July 1915 and named for the commander who led the attack, Capt R. L. Leane.
The experience left a lasting impression on all of us. It reminded us just how much has been sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy every day. We came away feeling especially grateful for those who served, allowing us to be able to come together, enjoy our week long camp, and create memories in peace.

Camp Mid West Day 6 …
The long awaited AMAZING RACE did not disappoint! A sea of Hawaiian shirts in our Group colours of blue, orange and yellow descended upon central Geraldton as the Scouts zigzagged their way through the streets. Our formal dinner was at the RSL followed by a look in their incredible museum. Then it was camp awards time for youth and Leaders

To our Leaders, youth members and Scouting Families,

As the year draws to a close and we gather in the spirit of Christmas, we want to take a moment to thank each of you for the energy, kindness, and commitment you bring to our Scout group. You have shown what it truly means to support one another, face challenges with courage, and live the Scout values every day.

At this special time of year, we hope you are able to slow down, enjoy the company of family and friends, and take care of what matters most—your health and happiness. Whether it’s getting outside, sharing a laugh, lending a helping hand, or simply resting and recharging, these small moments make a big difference to our wellbeing.

Merry Christmas to you all, and thank you for being part of our Scouting family.

The Venturers were on a Magical Mystery Tour (MMT) this weekend and it was packed with activities and fun. Starting with ringing the civic bells in Rockingham, then 3D glow golf, Ice Bykes at Cockburn Arena, pasta making, chocolate sampling, shopping for snacks, star gazing at Perth Observatory, staying in Kalamunda, cherry picking, reptile encounters and paint balling 😅
