We are very excited that it’s nearly time for our long awaited talk with an astronaut on the International Space Station. Venturer Scout Alana has worked with our youth to collate the questions and will be introducing our wonderful Scout Group to the world and beyond 🚀

Training sleepover for the Cubs with a trip to Scitech: what a start for our new Cubs.
After drop off we took public transport to Perth and spend the day doing science things.
The science show and planetarium were out of this world!
A random coffee for Meerkat in a meerkat cup...what are the odds? Only at Scitech. It doesn't get more "sciency" than that!
Some Baskin & Robins and playing when back at Rockingham foreshore before returning to the hall for delicious dinner and dessert that Drake had prepared for us.
We set up our beds, watched a movie and slept like only tired Cubs can.

The Joey Scouts had a wild time at WA Wildlife last night, as we got up close with dingoes, koalas, tawny frogmouth owls, a ringtail possum, a wombat and lots of special reptiles. After 4 new Investitures at a very special place, we also learned what to do if we come across sick or injured wildlife. WA Wildlife is the busiest wildlife rehabilitation facility in Western Australia where volunteers work alongside vets and other staff. Our donation last night helps to fund their amazing work to continue.

What a fantastic weekend of fun, adventure and teamwork!

Our Scouts headed off on a Mystery Hike Camp, where they worked together using street maps and directions to navigate their way to a series of mystery locations across Rockingham.

Along the way, they enjoyed lunch at Grill'd, played 9 rounds of mini golf, shopped for their own dinner ingredients, and hiked back to the Scout Hall. They were even lucky enough to spot a whale from the Rockingham Foreshore!

Back at camp, the Scouts made their own pizzas and learnt how to cook them in a camp oven before finishing the evening with toasted marshmallows around the fire and a well-earned movie night watching The LEGO Movie. After such a big day, everyone was more than ready to collapse into bed!

It was an incredible weekend filled with adventure, new skills, teamwork, laughter and friendship. ⚜️💜⚜️

Today we celebrated World Scout Day by proudly wearing our Scout scarves out in the community!
Our youth members and dedicated Leaders were honoured to represent a worldwide movement that is making a positive difference.

Congratulations to four outstanding Scout Leaders whose dedication and commitment to Scouting have been recognised with well-deserved awards.

A very special congratulations to Matthew Schryver (Rikki) on receiving the Silver Koala. This prestigious award recognises sustained and distinguished service of an exceptional standard, and is a fitting acknowledgement of his outstanding contribution to Scouting.

Congratulations to James Smith (Smiley) and Jolene McDonald (Raksha) on receiving the Meritorious Service Award, recognising their exceptional service and commitment to Scouting. This award recognises Leaders whose service has gone above and beyond expectations through their dedication, reliability and commitment to delivering quality Scouting. Their willingness to give their time, support fellow Leaders, mentor young people and contribute wherever needed has strengthened our Group and enriched the Scouting experience for so many.

Congratulations also to Beven Anderson (Mutley) on being awarded the Silver Wattle. A valued member of our Group for many years, and now back in his hometown of Geraldton, he remains an active Honourary Member of our Group. His leadership, mentorship and dedication have had a lasting impact on countless young people and fellow volunteers, and we are delighted to see his service recognised.

Volunteer recognition is about more than the awards themselves—it celebrates the countless hours, quiet acts of service and lasting impact these Leaders have made in the lives of young people and our Scouting community.

Congratulations to all four recipients on these outstanding achievements. Thank you for your service and for everything you continue to do for Scouting.

We would like to extend a big thank you to the City of Rockingham for their support of our recent community trip! 🚌✨The City provided a $500 grant contribution toward our bus hire, helping us transport our group safely to Camp Mid West which was held in Geraldton. We are incredibly grateful for the council’s investment in local groups and community connection.
