VEHICLE SECURITY

To enhance vehicle security, park in well-lit, visible, and secured areas, lock all doors, windows, and the boot, and remove valuables.

Use security devices like alarms, steering locks, anti-theft screws, GPS trackers, and immobilisers.

Keep keys out of sight, never hide spares, and always take keys when leaving the vehicle, even at petrol stations.

Thwart opportunistic theft through vigilant habits and secure parking practices.

๐Ÿ“น Do you have CCTV at home or work?

You can help make our community safer by joining the Queensland Police Service Community Camera Alliance.

The program allows residents and businesses to voluntarily register their CCTV systems with QPS, so police know where cameras are located and can quickly request footage if an incident occurs nearby.

โœ… Police do not access your camera system
โœ… Registration only shows where cameras are located
โœ… Youโ€™re contacted only if your footage may assist an investigation
โœ… Information is stored securely and participation is completely voluntary

CCTV plays an important role in preventing crime, identifying offenders and speeding up investigations. With more cameras now across our neighbourhoods, registering yours can make a real difference.

๐Ÿ” You can remove your registration at any time.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Register your CCTV here:

๐Ÿ“น **Building a Safer Community Together** ๐Ÿค

Did you know Queensland Police have a **Community Camera Alliance** initiative that helps strengthen local safety?

The Community Camera Alliance allows residents and businesses who have CCTV or security cameras to **voluntarily register** them with Queensland Police. This **does not give police live access** to your cameras โ€” it simply helps them know where cameras are located if footage is needed after an incident.

โœ… Voluntary and secure
โœ… No live monitoring by police
โœ… Helps investigations when incidents occur
โœ… Strengthens community crime prevention

If you have cameras at your home or business, or are thinking about installing them, this is a simple way to support community safety.
