Today we have filed a Human Rights complaint regarding lateral violence involving racial discrimination amongst our own mob.
No matter who you are, you do not have the right to racially abuse or in any way adversely impact the human rights of other people.
We anticipate this will be a well published case and as things progress, we will be making several submissions and whilst we hope for an efficient resolution, we realistically anticipate a sensational debate in the Queensland Human Rights Commission.
We are excited to have the opportunity to bring this vulgar and offensive abuse and unlawful discrimination to the attention of the Commission and our mob.
What is lateral violence?
Lateral violence is a term used to describe harmful behavior that occurs between individuals who share a similar social identity or experience.
In legal terms, lateral violence can be defined as any action or behavior that is intended to cause harm, humiliation, or intimidation to another person within the same community or group.
This type of behavior can take many forms, including verbal abuse, physical violence, social exclusion, and cyberbullying. Lateral violence is particularly damaging because it undermines the sense of solidarity and support that is necessary for communities to thrive.
As such, it is important for legal professionals to recognize and address lateral violence in order to promote positive and healthy relationships within communities.
