We are heartbroken by the news out of Ballina, NSW.
Marine rescue volunteers give their time and put themselves in harm's way to help others, and Mondays tragedy is a devastating reminder of that reality.
Our thoughts are with the families, friends, and the entire Marine Rescue Ballina crew. We stand with you and send our strength during this incredibly difficult time.
From all of us at Naturaliste Marine Rescue, we honour their dedication, bravery, and the sacrifice they made in service of others. They will not be forgotten.

It’s never the outcome we hope for when responding to a call. Our thoughts are with the man’s family, friends, and everyone affected yesterday.
If you have any info from the afternoon that may assist reach out to 131 444.

A man has died after being swept from rocks at Injidup Natural Spa.

Police say the man, who was visiting the region from South East Asia with his family, came off the rocks just after midday on Monday.

"He had limited swimming abilities and attempts to get flotation devices to him were unsuccessful," South West Police Acting Superintendent Andy Elliott said.

"He's drifted out to sea and out of view."

The man's body was eventually recovered and brought to shore via jetski.

"It's a sad day for the friends and family of the tourist, but also the witnesses and first responders," Acting Superintendent Elliott said.

He urged anyone who had witnessed the incident, who had not already spoken to police, to get in contact on 131 444.

"It may shed some light on what happened and provide the family with some answers," Acting Superintendent Elliott said.
