Rotary Southern Districts We get together on Tuesday nights 6pm for 6:30pm at the Gosnells Golf Club just off Warton Road.

Cost is $36 for a two course meal and a lot of fun Everyone welcome!! Southern Districts Rotary is part of the global network of Rotary Clubs comprised of Business and Professional people who give back to the community and various international projects.

Our Community Grant to Canning Vale College Breakfast Club has helped purchase breakfast supplies, new appliances and aprons for the volunteers who make it happen.

Bread, Milo and jam may seem like simple things, but a nutritious breakfast and a welcoming start to the morning help students arrive ready to learn.

Community Grants in Action — a second life for technology, new opportunities for people.

Our Community Grant to Sam’s Spares supports their work refurbishing donated electronics for reuse in the community.

Each device can open doors to learning, work and connection. Behind that work is a neurodivergent team earning award wages in meaningful employment, while helping keep usable technology out of landfill.

As Sam’s Spares explains, one device can create a ripple effect—benefiting its recipient, their family and the wider community.

Our Community Grant to Maddington Little Athletics Club has helped fund new long jump mats and line-marking equipment, already making a difference for local young athletes.

With mats suited to different ages and abilities, more children can practise at the same time, get feedback from coaches and have another go. Clearly marked training areas also make setup easier, giving volunteers more time to support the children.

As Courtney from the club says, “Keeping them moving and engaged makes such a difference to their enjoyment of training.”

You’ve been following the discoveries on my morning walks—rainbows, flowers, peaceful wetlands and even a snake! I’m walking to improve my fitness and raise much-needed funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Tuesday 6 October is Dollar Match Day. From 8 am WA time, donations will be DOUBLED during the RFDS matching promotion—$25 becomes $50! ✈️
So far, I’ve walked 30 km and raised $163 towards my $2,000 goal. Together, our Rotary team has covered 495 km and raised $6,807

Last night at our regular Tuesday get together, we heard from the Principals and Senior Staff of Harrisdale Senior High School, Thornlie Senior High School and Canning Vale College on the achievements that their students have made and the facilities offered by each of the schools. We also received some kind words of appreciation from each of the schools regarding the long standing association and funding that Southern Districts Rotary has provided to all three schools over the years.

Also present were our upcoming RYPEN attendee and attendees who have just returned from attending RYPEN.

We also heard about all the fabulous work that the Rotaract Club Members of Harrisdale Senior High are doing in their School and local community.

Three new faces are helping early literacy stand out in our community. 💖📚

Patrick, Paige and Pete Possum made their stand-up debut at *A Symphony of Stories*, hosted by City of Gosnells Libraries at Mills Park Hall during Book Week 2026.

Created for Paint the Highway REaD, the character stand-ups can now attend community events when the real possums cannot—helping make the message of talking, reading, singing, rhyming, drawing and playing with children more visible and memorable.

Southern Districts Rotary was delighted to fund their purchase through our 2026 Community Grants program.

Congratulations to the Highway REaD and of Gosnells Libraries for creating such a colourful celebration of stories, imagination and early learning.

And this is only the beginning—more new resources will be unveiled soon!
