During a Reiki treatment, a trained practitioner acts as a conduit, transferring this balancing energy through their hands.

This process is inherently simple and accessible.

Clients often report feeling a gentle warmth or a pleasant tingling sensation, which helps to immediately aid relaxation and promote a deep sense of calmness.

The word Reiki (pronounced ray-kee) is a Japanese term meaning “universal life force energy.” It refers to the vital, non-invasive energy that supports all living things. As a systematic and gentle Japanese healing technique developed by Mikao Usui in the early 1900s, Reiki is fundamentally a hands-on therapy focused on restoring balance.

The beauty of Reiki lies in its holistic healing approach: it addresses the whole person (the body, mind, and spirit) rather than just symptoms. It is important to know that Reiki Association members practise Reiki in a manner compatible with all belief systems, making it a universally welcoming pathway to wellness.

To fully understand how this simple practice works and how it can benefit you, we invite you to explore the sections below on our official Treatments, Reiki Principles, and local Reiki Share Groups.

Preserving the Original Teachings
Reiki is a simple, non-invasive Japanese healing technique founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. Our practice at RAWA is rooted in respect for his original teachings, known as Usui Shiki Ryoho and Jikiden Reiki. Usui Sensei developed this systematic method after a period of intense study and spiritual seeking, ultimately discovering a way to channel Rei (Universal) and Ki (Life Force Energy) for the benefit of all.

His aim was a practical, accessible method for personal growth and physical well-being that anyone could learn and use. This dedication to practical application and clear structure is what defines authentic Reiki lineage and is the foundation of every treatment we offer.

The Reiki Association WA wonderful practitioners offer Reiki to those who need it in Beaconsfield and have an opportunity for partnership with a local health care provider.

If you are involved with a Women's Health Centre or similar, and believe their services could be supported with Reiki, contact Amy at [email protected]. or contact us here:

Meet David Bishop, our Vice Chair at the Reiki Association of Western Australia. David found his way to Reiki back in 2009 after the universe gave him not one but two nudges in the right direction. Since then he has been a dedicated practitioner, volunteer and community builder. We are so glad he listened! 🙏

What he'd say to someone new to Reiki: "Do it. You will not regret it."

South West Reiki Share Returns!
For the 3rd year, we'll be setting up treatment tables in Bunbury 🙌🏾
This is a practitioner only event, although we extend the invitation beyond our members to welcome a wider Reiki community.
Often practitioners will freely give Reiki, and although we do receive while giving, there is a different intuition when lying on the table for an hour 😊
These events are to ensure all participant receive 🤲
Thank you for your understanding 🙏
