Got a great idea to celebrate people with disability in your community? Community groups, not-for-profit organisations and local government authorities can now apply for funding to help make IDPwD 2026 a celebration to remember.

IDPwD is celebrated on 3 December every year, and this year's WA theme is Valued. Included. Leading. It celebrates the strengths and achievements of Western Australians with disability, and the important role they play in our communities.

You can apply for grants of up to $1,250 to run an event or initiative raising awareness and celebrating people with disability. We strongly encourage organisations to involve people with lived experience in planning and running their events.

Applications close 10am, Monday 5 October.

Volunteers are the heartbeat of thriving organisations. 💛
You give more than your time - you create lasting impact.

Every conversation, event, and helping hand contributes to something bigger than the moment itself. Volunteers strengthen communities, foster connection, create a sense of belonging, build confidence and support those who need it most.

The hours you contribute are so important, however they only tell one part of the story.

What matters most is the difference you make in the lives of individuals, in organisations, and across our communities. Check out over 2,000 opportunities and find your way to give back. 🌱

Are you a young person who wants to get involved in your community but not quite sure how to do it?

Check out the Youth Participation Kit, a suite of practical resources and tools designed to support participation in the community through channels such as advocacy, leadership or volunteering.

The Youth Participation Kit is a key action in the Cook Labor Government’s Youth Action Plan, Koorlangka Bidi, to amplify young voices.

It’s fitting that the Kit is being launched on International Youth Day, which is celebrated every year on 12 August.

The 2026 theme is ‘Different Contexts, Common Aspirations’, recognising that while young people come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, they share common goals for connection, opportunity, inclusion and a positive future.

Read the Youth Participation Kit and register for free workshops via the link in comments.
