Deepwater Sporting Car Club Inc.

Deepwater Sporting Car Club Inc. The Deepwater Sporting Car Club is a Central Coast based car club with members that are passionate about sports cars, focusing on off-road rally and WRC.

Welcome to the Deepwater Sporting Car Club, the Central Coast's own motoring and sporting car organisation. Representing the region from the Hawkesbury to the Hunter, the club started in humble beginnings in a boat shed in Woy Woy in the late 1960s, early 1970s. Rumoured to have reached the 40 year milestone, the club can boast on many of its members being past and current racing and rally champio

ns, but most of all, its members are passionate and committed car enthusiasts. Though the club represents all forms of motorsport and sporting car activity, its membership has a strong influence in off road and rally racing in state, national and international levels. We are always happy to welcome new members and we meet regularly for a yarn about all things automotive and rally, along with a couple of drinks of course! Meetings are on the first Tuesday of every month and details are usually posted on this page a few days beforehand. The venue may change from place to place, but is usually at Ourimbah RSL . Please send us a message if you are interested to join!

Rally family
It is with great sadness that on behalf of the Pinckham family I advise of the passing of one of our original and much loved members, Jeff Pinckham. Jeff joined the Deepwater Sporting Car Club around 1974/75, buying an FE Holden and competing with his wife Doreen. When Doreen navigated for Mike Bell, Jeff was their greatest supporter seeing them win the 1978 NSW Clubman Championship. After the passing of Doreen, Jeff became co-owner of service stations at East Gosford and Palmdale and was drawn back into rallying when he bought Warren Ridge's Celica - until he rolled it at Wingham in 1983 that is! Jeff last competed in an LA Lancer at Bulahdelah in 1984 with his son Michael by his side. It was Michael's first time in the navigator's seat and no doubt a very special memory for them both.
Later in life Jeff retired and relocated to Harrington to enjoy a life of fishing and crabbing on the river.
Jeff passed away on Wednesday in Taree hospital with his family by his side.
On behalf of the current and former members of the Deepwater Sporting Car Club, we extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt condolences to Jeff's family: wife Cristina, daughters Lorene and Janelle and to his son Michael.
RIP Jeff.
