What Is A Toy Library? A toy library is a place where parents, carers and families can go to borrow a large range of educational toys, games and puzzles for children up to the age of six. . A toy library is able to provide a large selection of quality toys and equipment for loan. Quality toys are expensive and can quickly lose their play value. By borrowing toys, parents can save money and provide new stimulation for their children every couple of weeks. Toy libraries also have environmental benefits by minimising individual consumption and encouraging re-use. How We Work
The Ocean Grove Toy Library is run by an elected committee. Toy library members can assist in the running of the library by performing one hour of duty per school term. All members are eligible for $10 per volunteer session completed (capped at $40 per membership year) at time of renewal. New members are always welcome year round. The Ocean Grove Toy Library is a member of the Toy Library Association of Victoria. They provide assistance with insurance, recommend toy lists and other vital information. The Ocean Grove Toy Library operates out of the Boorai Centre on Tuesday evenings from 7pm - 8pm, Wednesdays from 10am - 11am and Saturday mornings 9.00am - 10.30am (during the school term), respectfully acknowledging we gather on the lands of the Wadawurrung people.
