🏉⚡ ROUND 8 – GAME DAY AT SARVAAS PARK! ⚡🏉

It's another big day of Thunder Footy as we welcome the Wagga Brothers players, families, officials and supporters to Sarvaas Park for Round 8.

Rugby League action kicks off from 8:35am, with a full day of junior footy ahead. Get down early, cheer on the kids, and enjoy a fantastic day of community sport.

🔥 The BBQ will be firing from early with our famous Bacon & Egg Rolls for breakfast.

🌭 The Canteen will be serving up all your old-school favourites throughout the day, so nobody will be going hungry!

A couple of reminders for everyone attending:

🚫 No pets are permitted inside Sarvaas Park on game days.
🚭 Smoking and va**ng are not permitted within the playing fields or spectator areas.

Let's create a great atmosphere, support all players, respect our officials, and enjoy another fantastic day of rugby league.

🚨 CANTEEN ROSTER – WE NEED YOUR HELP! 🚨

There are still plenty of spots to be filled on tomorrow's Canteen & BBQ Roster!

A huge thank you to everyone who has already put their hand up through the roster form, as well as those who have directly inboxed the club to volunteer. Your support is what keeps our game days running smoothly.

A special shoutout also goes to some of our younger players who have volunteered to help out tomorrow. 👏 You are the future volunteers and leaders of our club, and it's fantastic to see you getting involved!

We understand Saturdays can be busy for everyone. Between sport, family commitments and life in general, finding time isn't always easy. However, game days simply don't happen without volunteers.

While many see us on game day, what you may not see is that our committee members and Canteen Coordinators are often there from 6:30am through until 5:00pm on home game days. All we're asking is for a little support throughout the day so we can all share the workload, watch our kids play footy, and keep the hungry players, families and supporters fed.

Please take a look at the attached fixture times and see if you can spare an hour or two. Every little bit helps. Put your name in the comments or when you hear the call out tomorrow, jump in and lend a hand please.

We've got a few important updates for our Thunder families as we head into a busy few weeks!

🏉 INTOWN GALA MATCH REGISTRATIONS
Tomorrow morning we'll be releasing the registration link for ALL Intown players wishing to participate in our remaining Gala Matches:

📍 Home vs Tumba – Saturday 27 June
📍 Away vs Gundagai – Saturday 4 July

📸 2026 TEAM PHOTOS
Our travelling sides will begin receiving their 2026 Team Photos through their team chat groups over the coming days.

For our Intown families, coaches have been provided with the QR code to access and download team photos. If your coach runs a team chat group, they'll share this directly with you.

We'll also have QR code printouts displayed on the canteen window tomorrow afternoon for parents to scan and download their team photos, and these will remain available on Saturday as well.

The response so far has been outstanding, with over 100 players already registered!

If you haven't completed the EOI yet, please do so as soon as possible. We'll keep the form open for another week or so while we finalise team nominations and registrations.

2026 JUNEE SCHOOL BOYS & LEAGUE TAG CARNIVAL – EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST/PLAYER REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! 🏉

We are now seeking Expressions of Interest from players and families wishing to attend the 2026 Junee School Boys & League Tag Carnivals, being held on the first weekend of August 2026.

📅 School Boys Carnival – Saturday
• U6's(LT) through to U16's Tackle

📅 League Tag Carnival – Sunday
• U8's to U16's League Tag
• U12's to U16's Girls Tackle

For families new to Albury Thunder, this is one of the biggest and most enjoyable junior carnivals on our calendar. Teams generally play 3 games throughout the day, making for a fantastic weekend of footy, fun and team bonding.

✅ There is NO cost to families.
ATJRL will cover all team registration fees for teams nominated to attend.

We need player numbers as soon as possible so we can register teams. Where age groups have sufficient numbers, we will look to enter multiple teams. If numbers are limited, only one team may be entered. For our Intown players, your submission will also assist with team selection and planning.

⚠️ IMPORTANT ACCOMMODATION NOTICE ⚠️

The Female Magic Round is also being held in Wagga Wagga on the same weekend, which is expected to place significant pressure on accommodation across the Riverina region.

🏨 If you are considering attending the Junee Carnival and require accommodation, we strongly encourage you to start looking and booking early to avoid missing out.

Please complete the EOI form if your child wishes to participate.

Please note: U12 - U16 Tackle and U14 - U16 League Tag and Female Tackle age groups have not been included in this EOI. Coaches will consult directly with their team groups regarding participation and team nominations.

Season Registration for Thunder Intown Series doesn't automatically cover you for the Junee Carnival. Please click the link to register your child for this awesome weekend of rugby and League Tag.

It's World Cup time... apparently.

While some people around the globe are focused on soccer, we think there's a far more important event happening this weekend... Round 7 at Sarvaas Park!

Today we welcome our visitors from Wagga Magpies, Southcity Bulls and Wagga Brothers to Albury for what promises to be a fantastic day of junior rugby league. We wish all players, coaches, volunteers and supporters a safe, enjoyable and competitive day of footy.

A friendly reminder to all spectators, players and officials that our Code of Conduct and Spectator Guidelines are attached. Let's continue to create a positive environment where kids can enjoy the game, develop their skills and make great memories.

☕ Dolly's Addiction Coffee Cart will be serving from 8:30am for those needing their morning caffeine fix.

🌭 The Thunder Canteen will also be open from 8:30am, serving up all the favourites throughout the day.

Whether you're here for the footy, the coffee, the hot chips, or all three, we hope everyone enjoys a great day at Sarvaas Park.

A huge thank you to all the families who have already put their hand up and are ready to don the apron tomorrow! 👏🌭🥓

We still have a few spots remaining on the BBQ for our famous Bacon & Egg Rolls, along with some shifts available in the canteen throughout the day.

If you hear a call-out over the PA tomorrow, it probably means we're under attack from a rush of Hot Dogs, Hot Chips and Red Frog orders and could use some extra hands! 🚨🍟🌭
