Mùng 6 Tết - 22/2/26: Gia Đình đi Hành Hương, viếng thăm Tu Viện Từ Ân, Chùa Kim Cang, Chùa Dược Sư và Chùa Giác Hoàng.
Vài lời chia sẽ của Anh HTr. Nguyên Pháp về Hành Hương 2026..
It was a warm but rainy day. HTr met some Đoàn Sinh at Noble Park Community Centre while others drove directly to Tu An Monastery (Tu Viện Từ Ân). There was a good number of HTr, đoàn sinh and parents in attendance. When we arrived, there was another temple group also doing in hành hương, so it was bustling with people.
Venerable Hạnh Phẩm welcomed our group and spoke bilingual very well. When it was my turn to speak, there was a camera filming, my script was out of order and it made me very nervous.. 😂. But a bowl of hot mì tiềm calmed my nerves.
There was a lively Tết atmosphere, with vibrant colours, decorations and backdrops providing the perfect opportunity for family photos. Tết karaoke was playing and Thầy gave everyone lucky pockets!
Time flew by quickly and we soon had to move on to Kim Cang Temple (Chùa Kim Cang). Venerable warmly invited us into the main hall to conduct a short prayer. He expressed joy in seeing Chánh Đạo following Vietnamese tradition by Hành Hương Tết and sent well wishes all Htrs, đoàn sinh and parents. Kim Cang is smaller temple with fewer visitors but was nicely decorated and still have a cosy Tết feeling.
Next stop was Duoc Su Temple (Chùa Dược Sư), which has only recently completed construction at the new site and will officially open next month (22/3/26). So there were no visitors or Tết decorations, but Ni Sư was delighted to see us and kindly welcomed us into the Buddha Hall to pay respects, have a snack and freely explore the temple.
Our last stop was Giac Hoang Temple (Chùa Giác Hoàng) with Venerable Thích Giác Tín. By this time the rain was falling cats and dogs 😂. Our Hành Hương group dropped to half the size. While we waited for the Venerable to finish greeting another group, we were served with drinks and biscuits. The Venerable then welcomed us into the Buddha Hall. We exchanged well wishes then the Venerable gave a short talk. He spoke about the importance of continuing our Tết tradition, being a time for families to come together, for people to visit temples. He spoke in Vietnamese and half the đoàn sinh fell asleep...maybe because of the rain outside or being a long day, but they eventually woke up in time to receive lucky pockets from the Venerable.
Overall, Hành Hương was a deeply meaningful day and a great experience for all who attended. We hope to continue this tradition every year.
