Looking for helpers at 9 am on Tuesday next 11th for a follow up working bee to do some additional planting and mulching in Donald Street. Tools provided. Meeting point - seat outside Elders. Not hard work - new volunteers especially welcome. Just turn up (protective gear and solid shoes)

To remind: Working bee in Donald Street tomorrow morning at 8 am (31st July) to replant 5 of the gardens with more sustainable plantings. Willing workers welcome. Just turn up at meeting point - seat outside previous Elders. We have the tools & High viz vests.

Just a heads up that during July our volunteers will be clearing existing gardens in Donald Street between Stockton and Yacaaba Streets. They will be replaced with a colourful low growing shrub jasmine tricolour (as per outside NAB). The garden outside Essence will be retained for "historical" purposes as that's where it all started. Similarly the corner gardens will remain. The purpose is to make the area much more sustainable due to water issues and other related challenges. So.... don't be alarmed if you see bare gardens start to appear along that stretch. It's temporary and it should look great when finished.

Rain ... rain .... at last! Inconvenient to most ... Upside....Our dedicated small group of volunteers have had a short rest from the end of a hose! Now come the weeds and annual leaf fall. We need help over winter as well to keep the gardens going. You don't have to be a gardener to help.

A real SOS for more volunteers and urgently. If you can help early morning or late afternoon with watering, please contact me. We have had some health issues knock our dedicated volunteers out of action plus others who have moved from the Bay.
