Today is International Day of Rural Women🌾💪

Rural Women's Network (RWN), is a statewide initiative by Women NSW. The RWN has been connecting and empowering women in regional, rural, and remote communities across NSW for over 30 years.

The RWN is a trusted voice, linking women to vital services, celebrating achievements, and creating opportunities for growth, resilience, and connection.

This year’s theme, “Rural Women Cultivating Good Food for All” honours the essential role rural women and girls play in feeding families, communities, and the world.

From farming to food distribution, their work sustains us all, yet many still face unequal pay, food insecurity, and limited decision-making power.

Let’s celebrate their leadership in sustainable agriculture and climate resilience.

Fantastic News! Our passed motion at the 2025 CWA State Conference has been written into the Current Policy and prioritised for the coming year with an Advocacy Kit. The kit (link below) covers the key details of this pressing issue and what you can do to help namely:

• Write a personal letter to the Minister for Local Government, your local MP and local councillors expressing your support for implementing the inquiry’s recommendations.
• Use social media to share facts about pound reform and promote humane treatment of animals.
• Support your local pound or rehoming centre through volunteering or donations and ask them how you can help advocate.
• Talk to neighbours about desexing, microchipping, and responsible dog ownership.

More details and other current priority policy can be found in the link below.

If you're interested in become part of this great group of local women committed to service, friendship and advocacy our branch meet the 2nd Friday of each month (except January) at 6pm at the Nashdale Hall.
