Sunshine Coast Pride Network

Directions Website

Sunshine Coast Pride Network Sunshine Coast Pride is about the celebration, recognition & visibility of the Sunshine Coast's LGBTQIA+ community. Show your Pride in Paradise.

The Sunshine Coast is one of the most desirable parts of Australia to live and visit, and for that reason many members of the LGBTIQ community choose to stay and visit here on the Sunshine Coast. Sunshine Coast Pride is designed to help the gay community here band together in mutual celebration, acceptance, recognition and strength. The Sunshine Coast Pride Festival is an annual event organised by a dedicated Committee of volunteers and is about providing a safe and fun environment for LGBTIQ people, their family and friends, to come together and celebrate our diversity on the Coast. From it's humble beginnings, the Festival has grown to be several events over a weekend. The Festival is to celebrate not only the local LGBTIQ community but beyond.

Today is International Pronouns Day! 🌈💖🏳️‍⚧️

Celebrated annually on the third Wednesday of October, International Pronouns Day is a reminder that respecting and using someone’s correct pronouns is a simple but powerful way to demonstrate inclusion, respect and care.

Pronouns are an important part of how we recognise and affirm people’s identities. Using the pronouns someone shares with us helps create welcoming environments where everyone feels seen, valued and respected.

For LGBTQIA+ Sistergirl and Brotherboy communities, names, identities and language can hold significant personal and cultural meaning. Respecting these identities is an important part of creating welcoming and inclusive spaces.

This International Pronouns Day, and every day, let’s continue listening, learning and celebrating the diversity of our communities. Together, we can help build a Queensland where everyone feels recognised, respected and included 💖💫🌈
