And on the third day .....DISCO!!!!! Was working through the latest timelapse videos and this bit stood out.
We'd had a couple of days of clouds and rain but then on the third day the sun was shining and you can see the difference.

THE SOUND OF THE STICK SHED. Have a listen to this. On the morning the Decibelles were set to perform in the Stick Shed, it was calm, there was no work going on anywhere on the Grain Corp site, none of our videos had been turned on and this is what the omni directional mic picked up. The volume hasn't been boosted or any other audio editing, this is just the shed talking to the shed...

Rachel Gellert played her harp in the Stick Shed after performing with the Decibelles on Heritage day.
It was truly moving but the microphone picked up what you couldn't hear "live' which was background noise about 50 metres away. Long story short there is a new directional microphone coming and we'll record Rachel without background noise....we'll post the results and the expectation is they will be spectacular. Something to look forward to.

A sure sign that winter is coming. The South Side Stick Shed afternoon light show is starting to appear.
As the days get shorter the effect builds and the colours deepen. Obviously clear winter days are best.
It would be at short notice but if there is a run of good days during winter that we could be confident would deliver the light effect would any of you be interested in coming to have a look if the Stick Shed stayed open one evening? You'd probably only get a days' notice here on Facebook that it was on. Let us know.

It's always a pleasure to welcome tours to the Stick Shed especially from the many Probus Clubs in the state.
Our latest tourist were a lively group from the Belmont Central Club from Geelong.
They picked a great day for it, the sun through the sky lights lit things up very nicely.
If you're part of group, we now offer two tour options. You can choose a tour of the Stick Shed alone..... or a half day tour that takes in the shed, the Museum precinct, the Sumpoilers unique engine collection as well as refreshments at one of Murtoa's cafes.
Both can be booked via our office Monday-Saturday between 10am-3pm.

SINGING IN THE STICK SHED IS BACK!!! and we are excited! The Decibelles from Rupanyup will perform as part of Heritage Day, Saturday May 9th. Put it in your diary. They'll perform at 1pm. It's been a fair while since people last got to enjoy the shed's incredible acoustics, don't miss out. Heritage Day is part of the National Trust's Heritage Festival and our annual celebration of the Stick Shed story. Beyond the Decibelles there will be guided tours at 10.15 & 12.30. The Sumpoilers are joining in too and will be firing up their mighty Hornsby Engines at 11am. There's also a Murtoa town garage sale and country market. So everyone can enjoy everything that Murtoa has to offer the Stick Shed will be operating a pass out system. Visitors will get a stamp when they first pay and be able to come and go throughout the day.
