Only 364 sleeps until the next Murtoa Show! Yes, we love it that much we’re counting down already.
Thank you to everyone for coming to the Show. It was an amazing day with so much to see and do and with almost perfect weather.
Our ‘new’ Pavilion looked fabulous on the day, with our committee working hard to make all this possible with our Pavilion being moved down to the footy change rooms in a re-shuffle. While this won’t be our forever home it will be for the foreseeable future.
All our Pavilion visitors would have noticed our new glass display cabinet which is an amazing asset that we were gifted by the Minyip Grounds Committee previously used by the Minyip Show. It now has pride of place in our pavilion. Thank you to all the people who entered items into the Pavilion, over 1000 entries, you enabled us to turn 2 cold change rooms into a bright and overflowing space once again.
This year we welcomed a few new attractions which all proved very popular, It’s a Photo Booth, Kelly Sports Horsham, Fair Dinkum Fauna and live action wrestling MXW Pro Wrestling. There was so much free activities for the kids to do including painting wooden toys Furals, decorating cupcake with Cupcakerella, having their face painted by Fantasy Faces BY Sonia or hair done with Giggles and Grins Face Painting and Tiny Goats and Co, the Harvest Simulator, Professor Wallace and so much more. There was rides by the Showmans Guild including the scary Zipper with lots of brave faces lining up for a turn.
A big thank you must to the Murtoa Grounds Committee who been very accommodating of all our show belongings and helping us with the reshuffle.
To all our sponsors and supporters West Wimmera Health Service, GrainCorp, K & J Baker Cartage Pty Ltd, O'Connors, National Centre for Farmer Health, North Stawell Minerals Ltd, DMD - Nhill, Horsham & Stawell, The Lazy Lizard Cafe Murtoa, Emmetts, Nutrien Ag Solutions - Rupanyup & Murtoa, HORSCH, Horsham Toyota, Thrive Health Clinic - Horsham, Horsham Sports & Community Club, Michaels of Donald , Wimpak, Jordan Farms, Murtoa Community Pharmacy, Murtoa Progress Association, Murtoa & District Neighbourhood House, Chrissy's Cafe, Wimmera Bearings, Bunnings Warehouse Australia, and those individuals who donate towards Prizes in the Pavilion or those who donate without wanting recognition, we have endless thanks. Our show committee aims high and we love that because of you we can offer free entry for under 16’s helping to get families through the gate and a multitude of free entertainment for kids of all ages, so hopefully they do want to keep coming back year after year and supporting their local show.
A massive thank you to our volunteers for helping throughout the day- pavilion stewards and judges, horse stewards and judges, front gate ticket sellers, the Lions Committe members selling raffle tickets, luncheon helpers, early morning marquee installers and power cord wranglers. We also wouldn’t be here without you, so thank you.
Next year we are celebrating our 140th and we are lucky enough to take over the Friday night of the Big Weeken
