Hunter builders, sparkies, and fabricators: your next first-year apprentice is looking for a placement right now!

Finding motivated entry-level talent is getting harder. You already know that.

Right now, Year 11 and 12 students enrolled in Construction, Electrotechnology, and Engineering VET programs are actively seeking 35-hour placements across the Hunter. Many have already completed their White Card. All of them have chosen this pathway.

They're not here to make coffees. They're here to prove themselves.

We match them to your trade. They contact you directly, arrange a short meeting, handle the required documentation, and confirm expectations before they start.

You get one week to assess their work ethic, attitude, and aptitude in real conditions before the end-of-year competition for school leavers even begins.

A strong first half of 2026! πŸ™Œ

In just six months, our Work Placement Team has arranged 949 placements, partnered with 451 host businesses, and supported 641 students across 63+ schools.

That's hundreds of local businesses backing young people into their futures - real opportunities, real impact.

On the right track together. πŸ’™πŸ§‘

"We're losing the work to businesses outside the Hunter, because we can't find the people to do it here." 😳

Adam from Carricks Air Conditioning is seeing it firsthand, jobs that should be going to local trades are being picked up by companies driving in from outside the region. Simply because there aren't enough skilled locals ready to do the work.

The fix? Start earlier. Train them here, keep them here.

Hosting a VET student for their 35-hour placement gives you a first look at your next apprentice, before your competitors do, and before they ever think about leaving the Hunter for work.

🚨 Got fines piling up and not sure what to do? You're not in trouble for asking for help. 🚨

Revenue NSW has a dedicated First Nations Team who can yarn with you about your fines in a culturally safe, judgement-free way, no shame, no stress.

Here's what they can help with:
βœ… Setting up a payment plan that actually works for you
βœ… Applying to get a fine reduced or written off
βœ… Work and Development Orders (WDOs) - knock off up to $1,000/month through unpaid work, courses or programs instead of paying cash. Did you know our BLOOM program is a registered WDO provider? Get in touch with us and we can help you work towards clearing your fines while building new skills πŸ™Œ
βœ… Getting your licence back if it's been suspended

And importantly, you can't go to jail for unpaid fines. So, if you've been avoiding the call out of fear, that's one less thing to worry about.

πŸ“ž Call the First Nations line on 1800 002 345 (Mon–Fri, 8.30am–5pm) it's free and confidential.

Don't let fines snowball. Reach out, get the right info, and get back on track. πŸ’ͺ

Our First Nations team is dedicated to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. We're here to help you understand all the available options to manage your fines.

"I'd love to host a student, but I don't have time for the paperwork."

We hear this all the time.

The good news? The admin isn't your job.

As the Work Placement Service Provider for the region, we coordinate the process, prepare the documentation, and support the placement from start to finish.

That means you can focus on what matters most, giving a student a valuable experience and seeing firsthand whether they could be a future employee.

βœ” School coordination
βœ” Compliance paperwork
βœ” Placement records

One registration. We do the rest.
