Maclean Lions Need Friends — No Meetings Required!
Look, we'll be honest. We're 15 Lions trying to be everywhere at once, and last time we checked none of us have figured out cloning yet. Some of us still work for a living (rude), a few have earned the right to supervise from a chair, and all of us are starting to suspect that "just one more project" was a lie.
So we're doing what any sensible group would do: we're asking for friends.
What's a Friend of Maclean Lions?
Not a member. Not a committee person. Not someone who has to read emails with "URGENT" in the subject line.
Just a legend who rocks up to help — flip a snag, count some bottles at Return & Earn, carry something heavy while pretending it's not heavy. A few hours a month. That's it. We're low maintenance, we promise.
The deal:
You choose when you're available, No guilt if you can't make it (we have enough of that already)
No meetings, no minutes, no "as per my last email" If you can hold tongs or count, you could already be overqualified. Free coffee and cake? We're not saying yes, but we're not saying no
Who can be a friend?
Young, old, retired, employed, unemployed, bored, energetic, "just here for the fun" — we're not picky. If you've got a pulse and occasional free time, you're in.
Family comes first — we'd never guilt you into missing your kid's concert to flip onions, sausages or count cans. We're volunteers, not monsters. As one of our wise members put it: “To support the community, we need the support of the community”

Maclean Lions were out and about today, giving their bbq trailer an airing at the Maclean Harvest Market doing bacon and eggs rolls and if course their famous sausage sizzle. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces supporting this great new market.
