YAS IS GROWING UP! 🎬

We’ve spent the past year creating a space for young actors to explore, take risks and find their creative voice.

Now, we’re making room for the slightly older ones. 👀

Introducing Young Adults Acting at YAS Studio…brand new classes for 18–24 year olds, starting in Feb 2027.

Real scene work. Practical acting technique. On-camera training. Creative exploration. And a room full of people who love acting as much as you do.

Beginner and Advanced classes available.

Applications now open. Places limited. Link in bio.

School holidays, but make them creative 💃🏽

This Spring, the studio is packed with Acting, Filmmaking, Animation and Photography workshops led by some pretty incredible artists.

Write something. Shoot something. Perform something. Animate something. Photograph something. Come make something.

Places across a number of workshops are now getting tight, with small groups of just 10–12 students 🤸🏾‍♀️

There’s a lot that happens inside these walls.

Films get made. Characters come to life. Cameras get picked up. Ideas get tested. Risks get taken. And young creatives find a space to discover what they love.

That’s YAS Studio.

Our September Holiday Workshops are coming up, and applications for Term 4 are now open ✦

🎬 JULY WORKSHOP SERIES

Calling all young filmmakers!

This July, our Juniors Filmmaking Workshops (Grades 3–6) will challenge students to create an original short film inspired by the 2026 Trop Jr Signature Item: Map.

Working in teams, students will develop ideas, write, direct, perform and film their own stories while learning the fundamentals of visual storytelling and filmmaking.

We’re thrilled to welcome two incredible filmmakers to lead the workshops:

🎥 Harvey Zielinski — award-winning actor, writer and director, winner of the Casting Guild of Australia’s Rising Star Award, and creator of the upcoming feature film Sweet Milk Lake.

🎥 Aarushi Chowdhury — award-winning filmmaker whose work has screened at festivals including SXSW Sydney and MIFF, and was named one of the Australian Women in Film Awards’ “One to Watch” filmmakers.

Students will work towards creating a film that may be submitted to Trop Jr while developing storytelling, filmmaking and collaboration skills in a fun, supportive studio environment.
