🚨 NEW & REPLACED NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH SIGNS COMING TO HILLCREST & FORESTDALE! 👮‍♂️🏘️

After a long wait, residents will soon start to notice new and replacement Neighbourhood Watch (NHW) signs being installed throughout the Hillcrest and Forestdale NHW areas.

These signs are more than just a reminder that an area is part of the Neighbourhood Watch network — they help promote community awareness, encourage residents to look out for one another, and act as a visible deterrent to crime and antisocial behaviour.

A big thank you to Queensland Police Service, our local Neighbourhood Watch groups and the Logan City Council team for working together to coordinate the replacement and installation program. 🤝

🚲⚠️ Safer Roads and Pathways for Queenslanders ⚠️🛴

Police now have stronger powers to crack down on dangerous e-bike and e-scooter behaviour that puts lives at risk on our roads and pathways.

Key changes include:

✅ Police can seize and destroy illegal devices
✅ Random breath testing for riders
✅ Increased penalties for speeding, careless riding, carrying passengers illegally, and riding on prohibited roads
✅ New licensing requirements for riders, with exemptions for medical conditions and disabilities
✅ Riders aged 12-17 may ride under parental supervision
✅ Parents can be fined if children under 16 are riding illegally

These measures aim to improve safety for everyone while supporting those who use e-bikes and e-scooters responsibly.

🚨 TOOL THEFT PREVENTION 🚨

Your tools are valuable to your livelihood – and unfortunately, they’re valuable to thieves too.

Tool theft can have a significant impact on tradies, contractors and small business owners. Beyond the cost of replacing stolen equipment, theft can result in lost income, delayed jobs and disruption to your business.

Queensland Police are working with the community to help prevent tool theft and are encouraging tool owners to take simple steps to protect their equipment:

🔒 Lock your home, shed, garage and vehicles when unattended
🧰 Secure tools and equipment whenever possible
🏷️ Mark and record your tools for easier identification and recovery
👀 Be aware of suspicious behaviour and report it to police

Taking a few extra precautions today can help keep your tools safe and your business moving.
