3rd Heathmont had a Group camp last weekend with Joeys, Cubs and Scouts coming together for two days and nights of fun at Gilwell Park Adventure Centre in Gembrook.
35 Youth in 3 patrols were led by our Scout Unit members through some great activities including High Ropes and the Gauntlet.

The campfire with songs and skits was a hit also.

Thank you to the Leaders who came along, and an extra special thanks to the parents who helped us set up camp, cook meals, and pack up equipment at the end of our adventure.

We all had a great time as a Group community.

What is it at Scouts? First of all it is fun. It is engaging. It is memorable. It is preparing for life. The Joey Scouts had a very active time learning with ropes. How to tie some basic knots that are very useful.

So what did the rope say when asked if they knew why they were all fluffy at the end?

They answered. "I'm afraid knot"

What a great Night for the Cub Scouts. They had their mothers and special persons night. Teaching knots, making keyrings, making stress balls, and making hot drinks. Being engaged as a youth member, and also as an adult really makes our Scouting community fun and memorable.

🧭🗺️🚈 Way-finding, orientation and mapping. Our 3rd Heathmont Waratah Cubs went on an adventure to Canterbury Gardens.
