Today we were privileged to hear from our guest speaker Marilyn Murray, who shared her inspiring experiences volunteering as a nurse in Tanzania. She spoke of the extreme poverty faced by many communities, but also of the warmth and resilience of the people she met. Her stories gave us a wonderful insight into the challenges of providing nursing care in such difficult circumstances, alongside the breathtaking scenery and beauty of Tanzania. A truly inspiring reminder of the difference one person can make through volunteering and caring for others.❤️

Last Thursday we welcomed Rev. Michael Shaw as guest speaker. Michael is the new Deacon in Charge of the Anglican Church Murrumburrah Harden Parish. Michael spoke about his journey in life and his enthusiasm of serving the community of Harden Murrumburrah.

Last week we enjoyed the company of local legend, Sharon Spackman of Frontier Services.
Sharon delighted us with the history of Frontier Service, their support for communities following disaster and tales of touring the country.
I think everyone could feel how passionate you are about your role and it was clear what a fabulous ambassador you are.
(Fun fact: Frontier was founded by John Flynn, of Rural Flying Doctor Service and $20 note fame, hence his cameo in his picture)

Thank you to today's guest speaker, Sophie Fossey of Bare Roots Design for joining us.
Sophie, a landscape designer and her family moved to Harden a year and a half ago for a slower paced lifestyle only to take on a huge project: restoration of Harden's old picture theatre 'The Lyceum'.
It was great to hear your ideas for the building and we all look forward to seeing this old beauty brought back to life.
Sophie would love to hear of your fond memories at the old theatre (anonymous if you prefer 🤭) as part of this project.
You can catch Sophie at her coffee van down the side of the theatre each weekend.

Thank you Melissa Pinney of HRDC for joining us again today for morning tea.
It was lovely to hear of all the projects happening in our community. We are so lucky to have you being an ambassador for our town. There is so much going on behind the scenes and we look forward to seeing it all develop.
Don't forget the Mother's Day Street Party is on this afternoon from 3pm.
