Our course records still stand for another year, but it was so exciting hearing your progress around the course chasing those records!
What we saw today wasnโt just the amazing performances at the front of the pack, but the resilience shown by every runner โ watching you all come across the line, we felt really humbled by the strength and determination of each and everyone of you - the smiles and pure happiness as you crossed the line left a big mark on all of us.
Mt Solitary is not a course that can be underestimated โ its tough and requires smart pacing, resilience, and determination to keep moving forward when the legs and mind begin to question why am I out here! Everyone who took on the course today deserves recognition for testing yourselves against one of the Blue Mountains most rugged and breathtaking courses.
A first this year was our early wave. Every single one of our early wave runners earned the right to be on that start line through their running capability and event results demonstrated to the RW Event Crew prior to the event. Their finishes were a powerful reminder that achievement at Mt Solitary is measured by determination and ex*****on. The smiles and pride across the line brought many to tears!
We have so many people to thank โ lets start with Ben - did you all hear Ben Berriman, our MC as you came towards the finish line? Thank you Ben โ we love your work!
Thank you to all of our volunteers - we really appreciate everything you do! Without you we could not hold these events! To everyone who volunteered their time today, you were all amazing! Next time you would like to run one of our events, please email us for your entry code.
Thank you also to all our suppliers and supporters - Glenbrook Greengrocer for all the fantastic fruit at the aid stations and finish line, to Tailwind Nutrition Australia for the Tailwind on course and at the race hub and to Squinters Brewing Co for the prizes for the first locals home- we will share another post on that shortly. Also huge thanks to Event Safety Services, Summit Gear, Blue Mountains Running Company, Pace Athletic, Cafe 2773, Jodi McConaghy Photography, Siftโd, Liberty Lifestyle Properties, Firies Climb for MND and Rotary for the BBQ.
