Last Friday, Frankston North lost a strong, dynamic and selfless "mover and shaker". Very sad news.

Gwen Dearsley was a huge driving force in our community, a passionate advocate for residents, and a tireless 'doer' for many years. She helped shape this suburb and this Centre.

All of us from FNCC send a huge thank you to you Gwen, wherever you are, and send our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and army of colleagues.😔💖

Get ready to move, groove and build strength with our Wednesday exercise sessions at FNCC, both run by the amazing Jenny (see images of her for accurate representation of how much movement you'll be doing)!

Jenny’s Jive brings a fun, Zumba-style workout exploring dance moves from around the world. It’s all about movement, music and a few laughs along the way - no stress, just good vibes (and maybe a workout for those laughter muscles too).
- Wednesdays | 9.30 – 10.30am
- $7.50

After that, keep the momentum going with Still Strong - a relaxed, chair-based strength session designed to support balance and overall fitness. Expect a friendly small group, great tunes and a supportive environment to move at your own pace.
- Wednesdays | 10:45 – 11.45am
- $7.50

Whether you’re looking to boost your energy, improve balance, or just enjoy moving with others, we’d love to see you there! ☀️

151 (and a half) blankets later – the Big Crochet Project is complete!

We hopped on a bus with some of the Frankston North gang to visit the blankets in all their glory at Cube 37. We had some nibbles, mingles with fellow crocheters from Frankston Arts Centre and Bloom Cafe, and tuned in for Jade's artist talk where she broke down the magical community effort for this project 🌈

A huge thanks to Jade Lees-Pavey-Artist for bringing the Big Crochet Project to the Centre, and another huge thanks to the team at the Arts Centre for supporting. However, the biggest thanks go to the community members who joined us at FNCC who made this project as special as it was. While we thought it may be goodbye, they let us know they'd be back for more and "try and stop us".

Give us a couple of weeks to finalise how we can keep this crochet train running, and if you're interested, keep your eye out for updates!

Does your group want to display a community notice?

We are pleased to let you know that we've just been asked to take on the management of the boards at Mahogany Ave and Excelsior Drive after many years of being wonderfully looked after by local volunteers – and we are up for the challenge!

If you'd like something popped up - please email your notice to: [email protected] with the subject line: "Attention Community Noticeboard" and we will print your notice and pop up on the boards and at our centre for the dates you need. Or, you can pop in for a visit to say hi, and drop them in to us.

To make things equitable, we've created some guidelines to help us assess what can go up in the available space. What better way for us all to find out what's going on in the Pines?

Please call us if you have any questions at all.

The great crochet takeover is here...🧶

Tomorrow is the FINAL SESSION of the Big Community Crochet Project - so we thought we'd showcase the amazing work the team has done by transforming the space into the "Frankston North Crochet Centre"!

Even though there's a very special Frankston Arts Centre celebration event on next Tuesday the 16th (free tickets still available - link in comments!) - in FNCC style, we couldn't help but spread the love throughout the Centre.

If you've got time - pop down to see the crew tomorrow and see them in action - or, come see it all on display next Tuesday!

Take a look at these successful smiley faces – this A-team just completed the Navigating Work Skills course!

Elizabeth, Willow, Jenna and Kaillee spent the last 4 weeks learning about the ins-and-outs of hospitality – from learning about time management and problem solving to serving up a delicious coffee, – and they're leaving with a food handlers' certificate, a freshly done resume and a big boost in confidence. 🎉

We absolutely loved having this cheery team for a month and
can't wait to see where they go.

If you'd like to enrol for Navigating Work Skills in Term 3 – let
us know ASAP! Spaces are limited and filling up quick.
