The Saint Bernard Club of NSW Inc Dogs NSW affiliate and official caretaker of the breed in NSW, Australia.

The Club fully supports Dogs NSW in protecting the interests of purebred dogs and the promotion of responsible dog ownership. The Club advocates membership of Dogs NSW and participation by all Members in conformation judging, obedience encouragement trials and junior handlers. The Club's 60th Specialty Championship Show will be held on Thursday 29th August 2013 to commence at 2:00pm at Dogs NSW, B

ill Spilstead Complex for Canine Affairs, Luddenham Road, Erskine Park, NSW, 2759. Along with other social and educational events, the Club also holds it's traditional annual Fun & Information Day, to which both prospective and existing owners are welcome to come along and join in with Club Members in a family day out with their Saints and to participate in the various activities organised. The Club continues to encourage all Members to attend the General Meetings, held quarterly months (commencing February), and to participate in the decision making process. Suggestions and feedback from Members is welcomed and encouraged so that the Club can best cater to everyone’s needs and expectations and to ensure that the Club continues to evolve and improve. The Club is a proactive participant in the Dogs NSW Rescue programme ensuring the welfare of Saints by assisting with the rehoming of dogs from around the country's pounds and shelters and with those surrendered by owners and strays found wandering and we maintain a register of potential new homes.

The SBCNSW is hosting its inaugural Dogs Australia Backpacking Trial at the Belmont Wetlands State Park (Lake Macquarie).

This Trial is the 1st Working Pack Dog and Working Novice Pack Dog Trial for the 2026 season.

Belmont Wetlands State Park is an awesome flat, sandy and partly rocky fire trail. The Trial is open to ALL BREEDS. Dogs MUST meet the minimum requirements: weigh more than 10kg; carry either 15% or 30% of their body weight in a pre-weighed backpack (saddle bags), and be fit to hike 16km per day - total 64km.

Backpacking is an endurance sledding event.

Come and see what the dogs and handlers trek the trails on either 23 or 24 May 2026.
