A first look inside one of Australia’s most anticipated new workplaces… 👀

IFA was recently given an exclusive first look inside Hancock Iron Ore’s new corporate headquarters at 53 Ord Street, West Perth — and we can’t wait to share it with you.

The project brings together a multidisciplinary team, led by Hancock Prospecting Projects / HanRoy overseeing project management and Barberini and Gunnell Atelier responsible for the interior design and fitout.

The design draws strongly on Australian and Pilbara-inspired themes, reflecting Hancock’s pioneering role in the development of Western Australia’s iron ore industry, while creating a workplace focused on productivity, wellbeing, connection and inspiration.

Issue 4 of Interior Fitout (out mid October) takes you inside this remarkable new headquarters and the story behind the project for the first time.

It's time to update your listing for the 2027 IFA Industry Directory!

An indispensable tool for designers, developers, architects, and fitout specialists, the IFA Industry Directory connects more than 5,000 key decision-makers through its printed A5 edition, and thousands more through the online directory.

We will shortly be updating the directory for 2027, so if you've been considering joining IFA, now's a good time to get your business in front of the industry. And with enhanced logo listing, you can gain even greater visibility. To become an IFA member, visit our website.

For our exisiting members, to update your listing in the published and online IFA Industry Directory, visit interiorfitoutassociation.com.au, go to the Members Only area in the top right-hand corner and use the login details which were emailed to you on 1st September. Please note that only the designated main contact for the membership can update the member company details.

It was great to be part of the Retail Show Australia（RSA) (RSA) 2026 and spend time with members, hear from some excellent speakers and see first-hand how technology is continuing to change the retail and shopfitting landscape.

There were some really interesting products and ideas on display, from camera technology and heat mapping through to holograms and virtual vending machines — all showing how retailers are thinking differently about the customer experience and how people engage with physical spaces.

IFA CEO Belinda Clarke also had the opportunity to take part in a roundtable discussion focused on AI and digital technology, customer loyalty and the changing retail customer. It was a valuable conversation about where technology is already making a difference, where the opportunities are, and how retailers and the fitout industry can work together to create better, more connected spaces.

A great couple of days connecting with people across retail, fitout and technology and bringing some of those ideas and conversations back to the IFA community.
