Don't give up on your favourite socks just yet!

Got holey socks, a ripped jumper, or a much-loved piece of wool clothing that's seen better days? Bring it along to Off the Rails Dunkeld and discover the creative art of Visible Mending.

Learn simple stitching techniques to repair, restore and personalise your wool clothes—turning worn-out into one-of-a-kind. It's a fun, sustainable way to save your favourite pieces and pick up a skill you'll use for years to come.

No experience needed—just bring something that needs a little love, and we'll help you give it a second life.

Come along, get creative, meet some lovely people, and help keep your favourite wool clothes (and socks!) out of landfill.

Entry by Donation. Tea, coffee and heating provided.

Sunday 26 July, 2pm - 4pm at Off the Rails Dunkeld, car Skene and Sterlings Sts.

What a privilege to spend the evening with Muzafar Ali and his beautiful family following the screening of *We Are Not Powerless” at Off the Rails Dunkeld.

Muzafar's story is one of extraordinary courage, resilience and hope. Hearing firsthand about his family's journey and the incredible work they have done to create opportunities for others was both inspiring and deeply moving. Their generosity, humility and unwavering belief in the power of education and community left a lasting impression on everyone in the room.

Thank you, Muzafar and your family, for sharing your story so openly. It was an evening of meaningful conversation, connection and reflection—one that reminded us all that ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference.

⭐️ Friend of Off the Rails Dunkeld, Bonnie Jackson, is an absolute star! ⭐️. Her brand-new single has just dropped, and it’s a cracker!

Described by Triple J Unearthed as "a poignant plea to a lover, full of confusion and loss, this song offers us a fresh perspective on the cycles of love and mourning."

We're so proud to see this incredibly talented young artist from Dunkeld making her mark.

Check it out and show Bonnie some local love! 🎶❤️

You can hear “Something we Can’t See” on all the platforms (You Tube, Apple Music, Spotify, Band Camp etc etc)

We Are Not Powerless.

Screening + Q&A + Supper

We are excited to announce that Director Muzafar Ali joins us again in Dunkeld for a special Q&A Screening of their new film We Are Not Powerless, which follows a group of refugees in the shadow of Australia's notorious 'Stop The Boats' policy.

Ten years ago Muzafar Ali and his wife Nagina escaped the Taliban in Afghanistan and found themselves living in Indonesia as refugees when Australia ‘stopped the boats’. Determined to do something, they started a small two room school, which soon became the hub of a community, and the most successful refugee-led initiative in the world.

We Are Not Powerless tells the story of what can happen when a community refuses to give in and work together for hope, love, and education.

Join us for an encore screening and Q&A on Saturday 27 June at 5pm.

Supported by Dunkeld Refugee and Asylum Seekers Support Group.
