🚧 Temporary Changes – Donald Landfill Hours
📅 From now until Monday 13 July 2026

We advise the community that temporary changes are in place for the Donald Landfill opening days and hours.

Temporary changed operating hours:
✅ Tuesdays: 1.00pm – 5.00pm
✅ Thursdays: 12.00pm – 4.00pm
✅ Sundays: 10.00am – 5.00pm
❌ The site will be closed on all other days during this period.

These adjustments have been made to ensure continued services, allowing us to manage staff availability while continuing to meet the needs of our community.

🔁 Reminders will be shared on Mondays and Fridays, which are usually open days but will remain closed during this temporary period.

🙏 Council also reminds all visitors to treat staff with courtesy and respect.

📣 Further updates on operating hours from 13 July onwards will be provided once confirmed.

The final piece of the Donald Levee Bank is reaching the critical stage. Contractors are preparing for a full scale set up prior to finishing works at the end of June.

🗑Donald Landfill Closed TODAY
Please note that the Donald Landfill is closed today, Monday 22 June.
It will be open tomorrow, Tuesday 23 June from 1pm-5pm and on Thursday 25 June 12pm-4pm this week.
There will be temporary changes to our opening days and hours for the remainder of June and July.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this time.
These adjustments will help us continue to provide a safe and consistent service to our community.

The Donald Show was proudly recognised at the Victorian Agricultural Shows State Awards last night, bringing home some fantastic results:
🥇 People's Choice Award – Winner (Best Show in Victoria)
🥇 Best Marketing Campaign – Winner (Medium Section)
🥇 Outstanding Individual Contribution Award – Winner (Nicole Nunn)
🥈 Best Innovation Award – Runner Up (Shining a Light on the Health & Wellbeing of our Community)

These achievements are a reflection of the incredible work of volunteers, committee members past & present, exhibitors, sponsors and the wider community who continue to support and champion the Donald Show.

Congratulations to everyone involved. This is a wonderful achievement for our local show and our community, and something the whole of Donald can be proud of. 🌾🎡🏆

The Australian Government is launching a new national warning system, AusAlert, which can send emergency messages to mobile devices.
It’s a fast and reliable way to help inform and prepare communities during local and national emergencies.
Before AusAlert is ready to use, it will be tested twice in Victoria:
🟦 Geelong suburbs of Belmont and Highton on Thursday 18 June 2026 at 2pm
🟦 Nationally on Monday 27 July 2026 at 2pm
When you receive an AusAlert, your mobile device will:
🟪 vibrate
🟪 play a loud siren-like sound for about 10 seconds
🟪 turn on the screen to show a message.
If you do not want an AusAlert test on your device/s:
🟥 turn off your mobile device or put it in aeroplane mode
🟥 keep your device off or in aeroplane mode for 24 hours.
