South Coast Butcher’s Pantry is looking for an experienced full time butcher to join our growing team across our two Shoalhaven shops.

We want someone who knows the trade, takes pride in a great cabinet, works well with customers and is ready to step into a senior role.

Trade qualified and experienced
Strong all round butchery skills
Confident cutting, boning and preparing quality meat
Great presentation and attention to detail
Reliable, organised and good with customers
Someone who can help lead the day to day operation

Today marks the start of the Bush Fire Danger Period in the Shoalhaven.

Now is the time to start to prepare you, your family and your property from bushfire. It also means that Fire Permits are now required. It’s easy process to sign up online to obtain a Fire Permit.

Join us this International Overdose Awareness Day as we come together to remember those we've lost, support those affected, and learn how we can help prevent future overdose deaths.

This free community event is open to everyone and will include:
- Information and displays from local Alcohol and Other Drug service providers
- Resources and take-home information
- A live naloxone demonstration, showing how this life-saving medication can help reverse an opioid overdose
- Afternoon tea and the opportunity to connect with local services and community members

Whether you have lived experience, work in the sector, support someone affected by alcohol or other drugs, or simply want to learn more, we welcome you to attend.

A case of H5 bird flu has been detected in a greater crested tern at Callala Bay.

As a precaution, biosecurity signs are being installed near the site. The area remains open, but please keep dogs on a lead, supervise children and avoid contact with sick or dead birds.

Council is working closely with The NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) who is leading the response to any detection of H5 bird flu in NSW.

If you find sick or dead wild birds, domestic birds, marine mammals or other wildlife showing signs of H5 bird flu:

☑️Avoid contact with the animals and their environment.
☑️Record what you see: take photos or video if possible, and note the location

The risk to human health remains low, but please stay vigilant and follow the advice of biosecurity authorities.
