The Scouts Australia NSW Air Activity Centre, flew for the first time in 1972 with only a two seater Aircraft operating from a tent. Based at Camden Airport, the Centre now has a modern fleet of Cessna 172 Aircraft with ‘State of the Art’ facilities. It is the only centre of its kind in the country and since inception has introduced over 50,000 youth members to aviation. The Volunteer staff at th

e Air Activity Centre run courses tailored to each age group that allow all members to experience aviation in a fun, interactive and safe environment. It is also possible learn to fly with us as we have a partnership with Altocap Flight School enabling Venturers, Rovers, Guides, Leaders and Parents achieve their dream and learn to fly. The Scouts fleet of aircraft consists of modern Cessna 172 aircraft :

This week, the airspace surrounding Sydney changed to allow Western Sydney International Airpott (WSI) to formally come on-line. For the Scouts NSW Air Activity Centre, this marks a significant change to our flight training and activity flying. On Sunday 5th July we operated our final activity route over Warragamba Dam, and Wednesday 8th July, our final flights through the Western Sydney airspace. On our last flight through the airspace, we wrote BYE on Flight radar.
We’re looking forward to exploring some different parts of South Western Sydney on our future activity days!
