Thank you to everyone who voted for Willow. We didn't win, but we did show that not every horse has to have a ridden career, and that Off the Trackers can turn their hooves to just about anything!
And Willow will always be a star in my eyes. 🥰

It has been a privilege to work through our program with Jami and her girls over the past month or so. Today was our last session for now, with lots of important takeaways on communication, active listening and teamwork.

A while back I was asked to donate a free EAL session as part of a prize package. Casey was the lucky winner, and today she and her friend Steffi, along with their boys, joined us for an Equine Olympics experience! Our focus was on teamwork and sportsmanship, and some fun.
There were some great moments for the team when they were all focused on the same goal, and everyone was clear what was happening. Willow was sure to let them know when they weren't! 😉🙂

Here at Equine EQ, we love Thorough Care SA and Thorough Care Month, because all of our horses are Thoroughbreds! They have all had racing careers, some long, some short. One of my goals was to work with Thoroughbreds in this business wherever possible, to help give Off the Track Thoroughbreds a home they feel safe in.
Supporting initiatives like Thorough Care helps keep horse welfare at the forefront in the racing industry, and helps improve outcomes for life after racing. I personally believe Thorough Care SA are doing race horse welfare in Australia better than any other state. 🐴💚💙🙂

It has been quite a week.
My daughter's horse developed a serious eye infection from an eye trauma we didn't know he had, and we have been in Port Lincoln at the vets for most of the week. He still may need the eye removed, or will have reduced vision. We won't know for a while yet.
What I love is the connection Trigger has developed with my daughter, Emma. She has spent time building her relationship with him, making him feel safe, and he trusts her completely.
Trust. Safety. Connection. Because honestly, isn't that what we all want?
