Creative Night at Cardiff Joey & Cub Scouts🎨

Last night at Cardiff Joey and Cub Scouts, we got the paintbrushes out and tackled a couple of fun creative challenges.

Our first task was to paint our favourite moment from this weekend’s Rabbit Skin—a perfect way to wrap up our review using colour and imagination. We do love a good plan–do–review with a twist of fun mixed in!

The second challenge was to create a monster… and wow, the creativity and imagination on display were incredible!

Another highlight of the night was Leader Cooky, our resident games expert, who always has thousands of games up his sleeve. He kept everyone moving, laughing, and having a great time.

Another wonderful night at the hall! 😊

🎪 Step right up! What a spectacular day yesterday at the Rabbit Skin – Circus Theme event for our Joeys and Cubs! 🎉

The Hunter & Coastal Region Scouts team truly put on a show-stopping performance, full of colour, excitement, and non-stop fun. A huge round of applause 👏 to Regional Commissioner Denise Broadhead (Kookaburra) and the incredible team behind the scenes who made the magic happen!

While Cardiff didn’t take centre ring for the Rabbit Skin this year, we definitely brought the circus spirit — big energy, lots of laughs, a touch of silliness, and plenty of heart 💛 Our youth shone brightly, living the Scout Law every step of the way: being respectful, doing what’s right, and believing in themselves.

I couldn’t be prouder that all our Cardiff youth joined in the fun, and a big shoutout to our three amazing adult helpers who helped keep the show running smoothly so our two patrols could experience everything on offer.

🎪 Circus Fun at Cardiff Joey/Cubs this week! 🎪

To get in the mood for Rabbit Skin this upcoming Sunday, we had a bit of circus-themed fun — and the energy is high with excitement!

We worked on our Scout Promise, talking about what it means to do our best, to do what is right. And even practiced packing our gear properly (sadly, phones and gaming consoles didn’t make the cut! 😄)

Our circus night was clearly a hit — every Joey and Cub is now signed up for Rabbit Skin! 🎉

We can’t wait for the fun ahead 🙌

❤️ On a more serious note — Cardiff Scout Group is currently facing some challenges, and we’re working hard behind the scenes to ensure we can continue providing these opportunities for our young people.

Seeing the enthusiasm from our Joeys and Cubs reminds us exactly why this matters so much.

Guided by the principle of doing what is right in Scout Law, we remain hopeful that an agreed way forward can be found that truly supports our young people and the future of the Group.
