We are super proud and excited to announce that Cardiff Scout Group will be hosting a Live Music Showcase on Saturday 4 July! 🎶
This is a 100% youth-led initiative by our Venturer Scout Unit, who have gone above and beyond to bring this event to life.
When their school’s end-of-semester Extravaganza was cancelled due to a devastating fire that impacted the music rooms and equipment, our in-house Cardiff Scout musos (AKA Static Embers) didn’t dwell on the disappointment — they looked for an opportunity.
Their idea? Use our Scout Hall to host an open day and create a space where young people can still showcase their talent, while also highlighting what Scouting is all about.
Because Scouting is more than just bushwalking — it’s about connection, finding your people, discovering your creative side, and being part of a community. 💛
This event hasn’t just come together by magic. The Venturers have put in a huge amount of effort planning and shaping the event, and have shown great flexibility along the way, adapting their ideas to work within requirements and feedback — a really important part of bringing something like this to life. We’re very pleased that Council has now approved the event to proceed.
A few important things to note:
🚗 Parking around Cardiff Scout Hall is limited, but Cardiff RSL has kindly offered overflow parking (approx. 500m walk). If you can, please support them while you’re there.
👥 Capacity is limited due to the size of our grounds — we’ll do our best to accommodate everyone safely.
🪑 Feel free to bring picnic rugs or chairs and settle in for the afternoon.
🌭 We’ll have a sausage sizzle and bake sale running as a fundraiser.
We’d love for you to come along and support our Venturers, as well as the talented young performers from our community.
It’s shaping up to be a fantastic afternoon of live music, creativity and community — and we can’t wait to see you there! 🎶
