The original, biggest and richest North Queensland street car shootout returns to Townsville for 2026, presented by Performance Parts Plus.

See key information for our biggest event of the year below:

Date: Saturday September the 12th 2026.

Location: DriveIt, Calcium Townsville

Event time: 12pm to 8:30pm.

Event format: 1/8th mile/200 metre no prep racing on the front straight of the DriveIt NQ circuit track.

Event rules: Current road registered cars only. Driver must hold current Queensland drivers licence or equivalent licence.

Racer information: $150 racer entries, limited to 120 cars. Classes as follows;

YTB Mechanical & Performance Weekend Warriors (6.50 index)

YTB Mechanical and Performance True Street (7.60 index)

All Out Auto Electrical Dial Your Own (cars).

Bike Taxi BIKE CLASS.

All classes pay $1000 to win, $200 to runner up.

🏁🔥 WHAT A DAY! — NQDRIFT BEGINNERS DAY 🔥🏁

Our FIRST EVER NQDRIFT Beginners Day is officially in the books… and WOW, what a turnout! 🙌

💥 SOLD OUT! 💥
The interest and support was absolutely unreal, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to kick off this new type of event.

The best part? Watching everyone’s progression throughout the day. From the first runs on the wet pad to the final laps, the improvement was INCREDIBLE! Drivers were gaining confidence, getting smoother, finding their lines and absolutely sending it by the end of the day. 🔥🔥

It was awesome to see so many new drivers getting out there, having a crack, learning new skills and most importantly — HAVING FUN! 🏎️💨

A massive THANK YOU to every single entrant who came along and helped make the day what it was. Your enthusiasm and support made this event one to remember. ❤️

And of course, none of this happens without the people behind the scenes — a huge shoutout to the NQDRIFT committee members and all of our incredible volunteers. From setup to pack-down and everything in between, we appreciate every bit of work you put in. 🙏
