To protect the environment, domestic animals (including dogs) are not permitted on site. Entry is free! CREEC grounds: Open 7 days a week during daylight hours.

CREEC is a nature reserve, education hub, and community space with an all-abilities playground, bush walk, café, BBQs, and picnic areas—perfect for a family outing. Learn about the Moreton Bay environment at Caboolture Region Environmental Education Centre (CREEC). Explore the nocturnal room, interactive displays, and native stingless beehive inside the centre. Centre hours: Open Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 AM–3:00 PM (closed public holidays). Please call ahead during school terms as mornings may be reserved for school excursions. Enjoy playgrounds, a sensory garden, bushwalking trails, BBQs, and picnic areas. In accordance with conservation regulations, domestic animals, including dogs, are strictly prohibited at CREEC. Only certified service animals are permitted. Warba Warba Café: Open 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

November is here and we are celebrating our fantastic native pollinators this month!🦋

Join us this month for Bush kindy, Park Tales, Yoga, Guided walks, and more, and learn about bees and beautiful butterflies to birds and beetles and everything pollinators do for us and our ecosystems every day. While they may be small, they play a big part in keeping our environment healthy and thriving.

Located amongst remnant rainforest, wetlands and beside Burpengary Creek we are a wonderful conservation reserve ideal for nature play and exploration. We have an interactive visitor centre designed for all-ages and a volunteer run cafe and nursery.

Explore your senses in our sensory garden 🦋🍃

Have you visited our sensory garden yet? It is a great place to come and take a break, relax and smell the flowers and listen to the birds and buzzing insects.

This Sensory Garden has been carefully developed as a place where people and nature can come together. The plants within it serve many purposes; some stimulate the senses through their colours, textures, and fragrances; others provide food, shelter, and shade for birds, insects, reptiles, and other native animals. The garden also celebrates the rich diversity of our native flora.

The sensory garden is free to visit any time of the day every day. Follow the footpath to your left from the carpark.

The birds were certainly active at CREEC this morning. In just one hour along our walking tracks doing their site checks, staff recorded 31 different bird sounds using the Merlin Bird ID app, with many more birds spotted that weren't captured by the recording.

Some of the birds spotted:

- Red backed fairy wrens
- Mistletoe birds
- Golden and rufus whistlers
- Spectacled monarch
- Fan-tailed cuckoo
- And many, many more!

This represents only a fraction of the incredible birdlife found around CREEC.

If you enjoy birdwatching, Merlin Bird ID is a fantastic free app that can help you identify birds by their calls, songs, or appearance. It also features a simple step-by-step bird identification tool, making it easy for beginners and experienced birders alike to learn more about the birds they encounter.

Join us tomorrow to make a Bee/Bug hotel!

This craft event will allow you to make your very own bug hotel to take home and place in your backyard. Australia is home to many solitary bees and insects who love small hollows to live and nest in. Make a new home for some buggy friends in your garden. All supplies provided, no bookings required.

🐞 Bug Catching Workshop with Bugs Ed at CREEC

Get ready to discover the fascinating world of insects. Join us to go bug catching led by a real-life entomologist from Bugs Ed this November for pollinator month!

Join us as we search for bugs, learn about their important role in our environment, and contribute to citizen science by helping document the species we find during the activity.

We are open as usual today!

After some minor flooding yesterday, our centre is back in business today. Please be aware that our tracks are still very wet and some of the minor paths are still waterlogged, so please take care if you are planning a walk.

Our centre is dry and open, and we have lots of activities to keep the little ones busy on a rainy day.

The Warba Warba Cafe is open for a nice coffee or a sweet treat (or two 😉
