🚴 Cycling Program 🚴

What could the next chapter of your cycling journey look like with the right support, opportunities and people in your corner?

The 2026–27 FedUni WestVic Academy of Sport / Barwon Sports Academy Cycling Program is designed to help emerging cyclists develop their skills, build confidence and progress from where they are now towards their next sporting goals.

With a focus on road and track cycling, athletes can access sport-specific development sessions in Geelong, Ballarat and Melbourne, alongside strength and conditioning, athlete education, fitness testing and bike-specific testing.

But development goes beyond performance alone. Through education, connections with specialist support services and opportunities to learn alongside other driven athletes, riders can build the resilience, knowledge and confidence to support them both on and off the bike.

🚴 WHO CAN APPLY?
The program welcomes eligible U15–U19 cyclists who hold an AusCycling Race Licence. Athletes are encouraged to apply if they meet the eligibility criteria.

📍 Road and track cycling development
💪 Weekly strength and conditioning
📈 Fitness and bike-specific testing
🧠 Athlete education and specialist support networks
🏁 Rider support at the Austral Wheel Race for track riders

The 2026–27 annual membership cost is $385, including GST.

🚀 ROCKET RIDERS | TERM 4

The Geelong Cycling Club Rocket Riders is a junior cycling program designed to be fun, supportive and inclusive for young riders aged 7 to 16.

Term 4 is shaping up to be a great one, with a couple of special guest appearances joining us throughout the term. We’ll also be running some basic bike maintenance sessions for riders and parents, helping everyone build a few handy skills to keep their bikes running smoothly.

The collection includes race suits, bib shorts, short and long sleeve jerseys, as well as accessories in the modern and heritage designs for both men and women. The store closes on September 22nd with delivery expected in October. This is the last opportunity to grab some kit before mid-late 2027 so get your orders in now!

The Bash V2 recap and results, Riders were greeted with 🤩 weather for the final race of the GCC gravel season, 40 keen gravel riders took to the start line with the infamous Jinda Park climb on the menu to get things started. It’s very difficult to hide in the bunch on a 30 or 40 minute climb so gaps quickly formed across most grades, riders formed small groups and had an awesome day on the gravel. The Hammonds road snake was also back for round 2 as the weather heated up. Thankfully still a bit slow. Much like the person writing this😂. A huge thanks to our generous volunteers who marshalled the corners to make for a safe day racing, thanks to Kris Hinck | Coach | High Performance for his race director role and Phil for his role of commissaire. We look forward to a big summer on the road with the annual 20, the Bushy and club champs not far away. See you on the road soon

DONATE IN MEMORY OF DAVE LINDEN

Dave Linden has been a familiar and much-loved presence at Geelong Cycling Club for many years. He has raced both road and track, representing the UCI grand Fondo, winning the Victorian Club Team Pursuit Championship, prestigious Ross Bush Memorial and Harry Salmon Race.

We were all deeply saddened to hear the news that Dave Linden had passed away following his battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer and want to support his family moving forward.

Thank to Stuart Lucas and Daryl Sutter for setting up the GoFund Me for his young son, Jim Linden.
Donation will go towards supporting Jim’s education and future opportunities.

All donations welcome larger and small!
