Dear Sydney Morning Herald, is it by deliberate omission that no reporting has detailed the NSW Legislative Council Inquiry into the Sydenham-Bankstown line conversion that made key findings that: the case for Metro Southwest has not been adequately established, that signalling upgrades would have achieved a more cost effective uplift, and that the business case for the project should be released in the public interest.

Metro Scandal

The Parliament Inquiry into Sydenham - Bankstown Line Conversion (2019-20) recommended the full release of the Business Case, yet Labor now in government refuses to publish the document.

The NSW Government has pushed ahead of supporting increased densities and up-zoning along the Sydenham to Bankstown line corridor. One Member of Parliament that previously opposed to the Metro Southwest owns property in a current Transport Oriented Development (TOD) zone.
