A few of our committee members were able to attend the Victorian Boxers Past and Present day to present our 2024 Veterans Inductee, Peter Read, with his trophy. Unfortunately, Peter couldn’t attend our Induction Gala in Brisbane this year, so it was an honour to be able to have Peter along with his family and friends there today.

The ANBHOF wants to thank for his much appreciated donation of the replica belts. John does a heap of work and travels all around Australia to get these belts hand signed, and they look fantastic!

It is with great sadness our boxing community has lost another great mate, Bryan Membrey.

As an amateur, Bryan would represent Australia before making his pro debut in 1953 against Keith Dudley. He would also be the main event on many occasions.

After stepping out of the ring, Bryan spent over 70 years in the boxing community in many ways. He was a long standing boxing official, with his son Damian following in his footsteps.

Bryan was also a great artist, painting many of Australia’s great boxers and other Australian sporting hero’s.

The Aust. Boxing Hall of Fame will always have a special memory of Bryan, as our logo is based on a picture from one of his fights. Our Inductions Galas, won’t be the same without his amazing support and great laugh.

We send our love out to Damian and his family.

Bryan’s record stands at
20 Fights
16 Wins
4 Losses

Vale Bryan.
