Our guest speaker this week was Max Bird from Kwinana RC, on hand to bring us up to date with the Timor Leste clean water filter installations. This project continues to grow and we are very pleased and proud to be involved. Later this year club member Mal will join Max on a fact finding mission to Timor Leste.

On Wednesday we celebrated with our annual bbq at tha top of Mt Adelaide, Albany WA. The club maintains the windmill near the Forts which pumped water for soldiers mustering to sail for Egypt and WW1 in 1915. Because they did, we can.

Thank you very much to the 50+ people from various service clubs and community organisations who attended the Homeless Forum on Wednesday night. Let's hope the projects already in motion and other ideas can help the unprecedented number of people in our midst who are homeless.

Veterans Assist member Phil Maguire will be laying a wreath on behalf of Veterans Assist Great Southern on Sunday, 18th August at 2pm assisted by Stephen Morrow.

After the service some members will be gathering at the Premier Hotel for a quite one to toast those who served.
