The public gallery is almost full at this point. If people were considering attending the debate of The Hon. Rob Simms’ motion we encourage you to watch online from home or gather together on the steps and watch together.

After the motion our President will come out to the steps of Parliament House to give an update on what happened in the debate.

PROTECT: The Greens motion to stop the redevelopment

Today, Wednesday 20 May, the Hon Robert Simms MLC will bring a motion to the Legislative Council to cancel the North Adelaide Golf Course redevelopment and instead allocate the $45 million to assist South Australians with the cost-of-living crisis. The motion also calls for returning the annexed Adelaide Park Lands to the Adelaide City Council's management.

Keeping you in the loop with expected path closures.

PATH CLOSURES/DISRUPTIONS - URBAN FOREST/DEVIATION RD - 25th MAY FOR 7 MONTHS

has advised Bike Adelaide of forthcoming closures and disruptions to paths around Park 5 Urban Forest starting 25th May for approximately 7 months.

Advance signs have been in place for a couple of weeks and some periodic closures have already occurred. SA Water advises that during the works period, fences will remain in place but gates and paths will be reopened during periods of no works.

SA Water sought Bike Adelaide feedback on proposed signage and alternative routes, noting the effect the closures will have alongside many other nearby closures. We appreciate their initiative in engaging us on behalf of our cycling community.

EXPLORE: Guided Walk: Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi (Park 16) Northern Half

The Guided Walk of this well know Park on Sunday was led by Liz Tidemann. Participants learned about it’s rich history and the varied uses of this Park Land.

While exploring the group encountered two unusual events taking place:

* The Distinguised Gentleman's Motorcycle Club (482 classic motor bikes) raising $46,000 for research into Prostate Cancer & Men's Mental Health.

* And the "No Time to Die Ultra running challenge" where 2 out of 250 runners were still running, after starting on Friday at 12 midday.... Amazing endurance!

PROTECT: Reminder

Wednesday 20 May, the Hon Robert Simms MLC will bring a motion to the Legislative Council to cancel the North Adelaide Golf Course redevelopment and instead allocate the $45 million to assist South Australians with the cost-of-living crisis. The motion also calls for returning the annexed Adelaide Park Lands to the Adelaide City Council's management.

How to attend in person.
The debate is likely to happen around 3:20pm. There is room for around 30 - 40 people in the public gallery. Although no bookings are required, it is recommended to arrive early to go through security and register at the desk. Photo ID is required and talking, shouting, taking photos, or displaying placards or signs is strictly prohibited. Silence is required and strictly enforced so please adhere to these restrictions.

If the gallery is full, people can view the proceedings from the centre hall.

PROTECT - Stop the Chop: Never Again Rally

This Friday at 5:30pm we are returning to the Steps of Parliament House for another rally! This time we need an even bigger crowd to show the Government we will never let this happen again.

Bring your signs, your voice and your passion to show your support and help us end the attacks on your Park Lands. Once again, it is important to refrain from personal attacks, they will only distract from our core message.
