Today, an urgent solidarity rally took place following another horrific crime committed by the Russian Federation. 🚨💔
🇺🇦 Ukrainians, 🇦🇹 Austrians, and people from across Europe 🇪🇺 stood together in unity. Members of Parliament 🏛️, ambassadors 🌍, representatives of the Embassy of Ukraine 🇺🇦, the Permanent Representation, and the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) joined the action.
⛪ The Kyiv Pechersk Lavra is a site of global cultural and spiritual significance — comparable to St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, the Sagrada Família in Barcelona, Cologne Cathedral, or Notre-Dame de Paris. An attack on a landmark of this magnitude is an attack on our shared European and world heritage 🌍🕯️.
📣 We cannot remain silent. The world must see, hear, and act.
🎶 At the end of the rally, we sang the National Anthem of Ukraine together, and its sound echoed through the heart of Vienna 🇺🇦❤️. We call on all communities and friends of Ukraine around the world 🌎 to organize similar actions in their cities and raise their voices for justice.
⚖️ War crimes must not go unpunished. Accountability matters. Justice must prevail.
