Bhejane Trust Bhejane is a Rhino and wildlife non-profit conservation organization based out of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe and have been operating since 2010.

Bhejane Trust (“Bhejane” is the local Ndebele name for Black Rhino) is a non-profit wildlife conservation organization based out of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Bhejane Trust is not only based around monitoring and tracking of Black Rhino but work with and assist the National Parks Authority of Zimbabwe in wildlife area rehabilitation, anti-poaching efforts, road repairs and maintenance, research and data collection, installing and maintaining water points to supply sufficient waterholes for the wildlife. A male leopard and several rock rabbits have recently fallen victim to poaching along with 27 snares found, one of several incidents putting wildlife under increasing pressure.

Our rangers patrol 2,000 km² of wilderness, across a porous boundary and with limited resources. Under a full moon, poachers have greater visibility — making an already difficult job even harder.

Yet our rangers keep going, covering vast distances and protecting wildlife with what they have.

Behind every rhino sighting is a dedicated monitoring effort. 🦏

Camera traps play a vital role in our partnership with Wildlife Authorities, giving us a valuable window into the landscape around the clock.
Positioned across key areas and left in the field for weeks at a time, these cameras capture thousands of images helping us monitor rhino movements, behaviour and activity across vast landscapes.

And of course, there’s always that exciting moment of checking the footage to see what has wandered past! 👀
