We’re proud to be part of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show 2026, showcasing our commitment to advancing young people’s health, rights, and wellbeing across the country. We invite you to visit our stand in the Rajiv Gandhi Hall, where our team is engaging visitors on the programmes, innovations, and youth‑led initiatives driving meaningful change in communities.

We recently conducted a Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management (MHHM) outreach session with 25 girls at the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) in Zimbabwe during their Girls' Fellowship Programme in Gokwe South.

The session covered menstrual health, hygiene practices, myths and misconceptions, when to seek help, and the correct use of sanitary pads. Through practical demonstrations and an interactive Q&A session, the girls were encouraged to discuss menstruation openly and without shame.

Some of the challenges highlighted included:
🔹 Limited access to affordable menstrual hygiene products
🔹 Menstrual stigma and embarrassment
🔹 School absenteeism due to fear of staining clothes
🔹 Lack of accurate menstrual health information

We believe that no girl should struggle to manage her period because of stigma, lack of information, or inadequate menstrual hygiene materials. We therefore call for increased support for menstrual health education and improved access to menstrual hygiene products for all girls.

We joined the World AIDS Day commemoration in Mashonaland Central under the theme "Overcoming Disruptions and Transforming the AIDS Response."

Zimbabwe has made remarkable progress in the HIV response, achieving the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets. However, many adolescents and young people are still being left behind.Young people shared their experiences and highlighted ongoing challenges in accessing youth-friendly services, safe spaces, and meaningful opportunities to influence decisions that affect their lives. Adolescent girls and young women remain particularly vulnerable, while the voices of young people in districts such as Muzarabani, Chimhanda, Mbire and Guruve are still not fully reflected in HIV programming.

We called for:
🔹 Increased investment in youth-friendly health services�
🔹 Safer and more inclusive spaces for young people�
🔹 Community-led HIV programming�
🔹 Meaningful youth participation in decision-making�
🔹 Recognition of young people as partners in the HIV response

YPNHW remains committed to amplifying young people's voices and advocating for an HIV response that is inclusive, accessible, and responsive to their realities.

Reaching 95-95-95 is a major milestone, but ending HIV requires ensuring that no adolescent or young person is left behind. 💚

Honoured to share that our Campaign poster led by Ziphozenkosi Ndlovu was awarded Overall Best Poster Presentation at the 6th edition of the Southern African Regional Students and Youth Consortium Conference in Namibia. This recognition reflects the strength of youth‑led, community‑driven action in advancing SRHR and protecting young people across Zimbabwe.

We extend our deepest appreciation to UNFPA Zimbabwe, our dedicated funding partner, and to the National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe, whose nationwide coordination and strong institutional structures make the implementation of this programme possible. Their support continues to ensure that the Campaign reaches rural and hard‑to‑reach communities with interventions that prevent child marriages, reduce teenage pregnancies, address SGBV, and strengthen access to SRHR services.

By mobilising traditional leaders, families, and young people and restoring the protective role of culture, the campaign demonstrates how locally grounded solutions can drive meaningful national and regional change. Being awarded the top poster of the conference affirms the importance of investing in youth leadership and community‑centred approaches that truly leave no young person behind.

As we reflect on the successful 6th edition of the Southern African Regional Students and Youth Consortium Conference in Namibia, we were honoured that our poster presentation led by Blessed Nhodza was awarded Second Best Poster Presentation of the entire conference.

The work showcased our Youth Prison Population Project, made possible through the generous support of the Robert Carr civil society Networks Fund through Afriyan Eastern and Southern African Region - Afriyan ESA. The Youth POPS 2 Project is a transformative initiative advancing the sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and overall wellbeing of young people in prison and ex‑prison populations across Zimbabwe.

Through improved access to HIV prevention, testing, and treatment; strengthened gender equality and SGBV response; empowerment of incarcerated and formerly incarcerated youth with SRHR knowledge and life skills; and reintegration support through education and psychosocial care, we continue to demonstrate what it truly means to leave no group behind. Every young person deserves dignity, health, and opportunity regardless of their circumstances.

With support from the National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe, UNFPA Zimbabwe and the Robert Carr civil society Networks Fund through Afriyan Eastern and Southern African Region - Afriyan ESA, 10 young people from YPNHW are participating in the 6th edition of SARSYC 2026 in Windhoek, Namibia.

Day 1 opened with strong momentum through opening remarks and the launch of Research Indaba III: Evidence for Action, underscoring the value of youth-led evidence in shaping regional policy and practice.

Delegates contributed to abstract presentations across key thematic tracks: Education Rights and Equity, HIV/AIDS and Sexual Health, NCDs and Healthy Lifestyles, Digital Health and Safety, and Mental Health and Substance Use. The Evidence to Action Plenary reinforced how youth-generated insights can be translated into meaningful regional impact.

A standout moment was the keynote by Dr David Parirenyatwa, highlighting how evidence strengthens policy influence, regional solidarity and long-term improvements in youth health and education. The day concluded with the launch of the SARSYC V Research Volume (2nd Edition), amplifying youth perspectives on emerging issues across the SADC region.

We proudly celebrate Ziphozenkosi Ndlovu and Blessed Nhodza, recognised for their poster presentations on the Campaign and the Youth Prison Population Project 2 powerful examples of youth-driven innovation supported by our partners.
