Important Community Notice

It is with great sadness that we share that our family has suffered a bereavement following the passing of a beloved member of the Silundika family.

Out of respect for our family during this time of mourning, we have made the difficult decision to place all planned TiBaKalanga Festival activities and related events on hold until further notice.

We know many of you have been looking forward to the upcoming events, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding, patience, and continued support. We will keep everyone informed and provide further updates as soon as new arrangements can be made.

On behalf of the Silundika family and the TGSCCC team, thank you for your kindness, prayers, and understanding during this difficult time.

Each Miss TiBaKalanga contestant began her journey at home — competing in a local village pageant, being seen and chosen by the people who know her best. That is not a small thing. It means something.

By the time she arrives at the TiBaKalanga Festival in Bulilima on 15 & 16 August 2026, she carries the pride of her whole community with her.

This is Gala. This is where we build.

Gala is a rural community in southern Matabeleland, and it is the home of the TG Silundika Cultural Community Centre.

For ten years, the Centre has brought people together through culture, learning, creativity and community action.

It is a place where traditions are celebrated, practical skills are shared, young people are encouraged and new ideas can begin to grow.

The TibaKalanga Festival is one of the most visible moments in our year.

But the Festival is only the beginning of the story.

Behind it is a wider community vision: supporting local talent, creating opportunities, strengthening cultural identity and building programmes that continue long after the Festival has ended.

Over the next eight posts, we will take you beyond the Festival and introduce the people, projects and ideas that make this work possible.

🎨 NEW at the 2026 TiBaKalanga Festival!

The Hlumani Learning Hub is delighted to introduce our brand-new Wildlife Discovery Art Camp!

Join us for a fun-filled creative session where children can colour, discover and learn about some of Zimbabwe's most amazing wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, rhinos and many more.

Each child will receive beautifully designed wildlife colouring pages and discovery cards that encourage creativity, reading and curiosity about our natural heritage.
