Honouring the Man of God – Father's Day

Sunday, 14 June 2026
Pastor S.P. Tsuro

Scripture References: Proverbs 6:2; Deuteronomy 5:16

Honour is a divine principle that brings blessings and long life. It is important to appreciate and value the anointing God has placed upon spiritual parents, recognizing their role in guiding believers into the light of Christ and providing spiritual covering and protection. It is unwise to place greater value on the vision than on the visionary whom God has appointed to carry and communicate that vision.

Children and young people are encouraged to obey and honour their parents, fear the Lord, and use their gifts and strength for constructive purposes. Even when biological fathers are absent or have passed on, Christians should continue to honour the father figures God has placed in their lives. Honour remains a key principle for receiving God's favour, guidance, and blessings.

Through honouring both our spiritual and biological parents, we demonstrate obedience to God's Word and position ourselves to experience His grace, protection, and abundant blessings.

Shalom

🌸 Mother’s Day Reflection

“A Mother is a feeling that stays forever.”

1. Mrs. Katangarika

▪️The Heart of Honor

-The M-O-T-H-E-R : Magical love, Overflowing care, Timeless strength, Healing heart, Endless sacrifice, Reliable support.

-The Commandment: Based on Exodus 20:12, honoring parents is linked directly to a long, blessed life.

-The Call to Action: Make amends while they are still alive (vachiri vapenyu). If you have wronged them, go and ask for forgiveness.

2. Mrs. Chamunorwa

▪️The Divine Design of a Mother

-God created mothers as special beings with a unique “warrior” spirit (Mai vehumhare).

-Why She is Special: She is a life-bringer, a nurturer, a prayerful protector, and the family’s first teacher.

3. Mrs. Chawasarira

▪️The Power of a “Suitable Helper”

-Being a mother and a wife is a high calling—it is both beautiful and challenging.

-The Game Changer: Women have the power to change the atmosphere of a home. As a “suitable helper” (Genesis 2:18), a woman carries the solutions to her family’s problems.

-Wisdom: Know your purpose. A mother should be sharp/wise and know how to unlock the potential in her husband and children.

International Women’s Day Theme: Give to Gain

Women deserve to be celebrated because they are truly worth it. Their strength, compassion, resilience, and dedication continue to shape families, communities, and the church.

Today, UFIC Norton Kingsdale Church Victorious Ladies gathered in unity and joy to celebrate Women’s Month, embracing this year’s theme, “Give to Gain.” It was a beautiful moment of appreciation, encouragement, and empowerment as women reflected on the power of giving—through love, service, wisdom, and support for one another.

Celebrating the strength and value of every woman.

Pastor S.P. Tsuro
Sermon : Spiritual Growth (Kukura Muzvinhu ZveMweya)

Scripture: Colossians 3:1–12;
Jeremiah 29:11

The message strikes a balance between the “why” of spiritual development and the practical “how” of daily living. We were taught that Spiritual growth is not optional; it is a visible, behavioral shift that moves a believer from a state of infancy to the "weighty" maturity of Christ. Just as a parent worries if a child does not reach physical milestones (crawling, walking), God expects to see progress in our spiritual lives. At age 12, Jesus was already doing His Father’s business. Spiritual growth gives your words "weight" and authority. When you are born again, your "spiritual DNA" changes. You are no longer defined by your past, but by the righteousness of God. Just as a baby needs milk, a believer needs the Word of God to be shaped, built up, and even to increase their lifespan through divine wisdom . Spiritual growth is often defined by what we stop doing. Being born again requires a total “self-introspection. It’s about taking off “old clothes” that no longer fit who you are in Christ. Get rid of bad tempers (hasha), moods, and irritability. Dirty language must never cross your lips. Stop lying (kunyepa). Deception removes blessings from your home. Respect everyone, especially the elderly, regardless of your position. Ensure no one cries because of your actions. Pause before you Speak." If a word doesn't bring grace to the hearer, don't say it. There is no room for looking down on others (kushorana). We are all members of one body. You must forgive others as Christ forgave you. It is the hallmark of your new life. Being in Christ is the best choice you have ever made. You have come to real life.
